Hi there, sometimes I get a great email direct from WA saying my article is google indexed and the date etc which is really helpful. However when I check in google site console for the ones that don't appear in WA notifications it is saying they are indexed.( Not all clearly ) I did not get notication through WA. I aways publish through WA then extra edit in word press. I would love any insight on that? Am I missing something? thanks Phil

What I have noticed from side is almost all of my contents are indexed but i have not felt the effect of it to my traffic. I don't know what is wrong with my website. I've got only 60+ views per week with only 14 users. My situation is maybe not relevant with your blog but I thank you Philmanc for sharing your blog because it reminded me about my the status of my website. Have a great day.

Thankyou I am pleased it was useful, I guess our sites do take time to build and I think the strategy of keep posting and building content is key. I know I find the low hanging fruit key words key to traffic which can build up. I hope it comes good soon, stick with it. I really appreciate you commenting. All the very best, Phil

I get the same as you Phil. Even though some of my articles are indexed they don’t indicate in site content that they are.

One other thing about site content is that If I release an article via site content and then add an image and release again I get no images going through to Wordpress, don’t know if anyone else had this problem?

Thanks for this Ian, I know once it has been published in site content changes can only be made and reflected in word press. So that would also include images. I hope that makes sense. So site content is a great tool which I love but once its published you have go to WP to change or add. I also cross check any links added. Thanks for responding, really useful. Phil

I had that problem. But I put an image in site content and it didn’t show on websites even if I went through wordpress afterwards. When I did it through site content and open a whole new window in private the image was there??? If I went through word press and created it that way I had no problem. I don’t have google chrome. I working out of Microsoft edge.

Hi Phil, I have noticed this also. If I write it in Site content I often am not notified when it's indexed and sometimes the Google icon doesn't change colour although it shows as indexed in Google Console.

I have tended to writing mostly in wordpress as it is more flexible, then ask for indexing on Google Console after getting some comments through Site Comments. Seems to work faster. It's nice being notified but not crucial.

That's a great approach and I think I use site console a lot and do the same I just could not square up the two, so these answers really help.

Sometimes its nice to know you are not alone! :) As they say when two and two don't make four start subtracting! Thanks for answering, Phil

Oh I have the same question too, because I got messages and saying that my website is indexed, but when I searched on Jaxxy, it didn't appear on it.

Hi there, I guess it is a bit different as I was asking about indexing rather than ranking, its that what you mean? I was just checking if they had been indexed. Jaaxy seaches the first page of the search engines.

Hi Phil, my question is for both issues. And your question is one of it between indexing and ranking. I searched on Google Console after the indexed message popped up, but it has no results.

cool that makes sense.. interesting especially if google console is saying its not indexed, thats almost the opposite of my issue! :)

Hi Phil,

To be honest, I tend to ignore them nowadays.

I think the notifications are absolutely great for newbies or those with brand new websites, as it provides clarification that they are moving in the right direction (although don't get me started on those who are more excited at getting indexed in 30 minutes, but aren't actually ranking or getting any traffic, LOL).

Only the other day I have an example of why I don't pay much heed to them nowadays.

I published an article on Thursday afternoon. I was checking GSC for something completely unrelated on Friday morning and found that the article had already received 9 impressions on Thursday evening, and was ranked on page 2 of Google (number 14 checked on an incognito tab).

Upon checking the index status at WA, I was informed that the article was not yet indexed. I then received a "Congratulations" email for indexing on Saturday afternoon.

Go figure!

Thanks
Partha

Thanks very much, the same was happening to me to be honest so the traffic increase did not always make sense so I started to audit the ones that were not indexed only to find that they had been. Much appreciated, great insight, Phil
