English was never my strong subject and I struggle writing content. has anyone got any good pointers to help me?
Sean: I believe it is keep to emulate what you like and resonate with. English was never my strong subject either and I have been at WA for under 3 months and already at 135 in the ranks here at WA due to my constant blogging. It can be done.
Start to read a lot of the blogs here at WA and comment frequently first off. Take the time to see what you like and don't like. Writing content on your website is very similar in that you want to write naturally and easy like you are talking to friends online. Feel free to check out my site or blogs for examples.
If it is picking a topic that is the issue, google searches on your niche works wonder for me. I subscribe to a on line newsletter on my niche topic and it gives me ideas on up and coming topics and I adjust it to my topic.
Hope that helped. Pat
If you're not real familiar with the content, research it some more, become comfortable with your knowledge of it, and write as if you're talking to a friend over the backyard fence.
I'm like Bee, old fashioned pen and paper. It is a mess sometimes, but as I type it out it falls into place and I polish it up a bit. Then I reread it, put it up to preview and note errors. Correct those and preview it again. It works for me.
I think a lot of times when I have writer's block or get stuck in writing, it is because I am too concerned with how it is going to be received by other people rather than just getting the information down.
One approach I like to use is to write my first draft on good old fashioned pen and paper instead of typing it out.
That way, I trick my brain out of worrying about the end result - I know that nobody will ever see it when it's written on paper, and I am more free to get out what I want to say. Give it a try and see if it works for you.
If you need anything else, you know where to find me!

if you have a passion for what you are writing about, I believe this is the key!
if you have a passion about a topic, the problem you then have... you can say too much ! lol
hope this helps?

I would like people to leave comment on my website, but I don't know how to install it on me web pages. please could someone point me in the right direction? Thank you!!
You'll find a step by step here Sean. :) http://thathelpfulchick.com/add-a-comment-box-to-a-website/
I found out it was my theme that didn't allow comments. thanks for your help, all working now.
Unusual for a theme not to allow comments, glad you got it sorted! Which theme was it, I'll take a note for future reference.
Sorry I cant remember which one it was. It was just a plain black & white theme. if I come across it again I'll comment you.
And in the "quickedit" section you may have to click the box "Allow comments" for every New page you create.

Sean, Your theme is where you define it. If you log into wordpress. Go to settings and Discussions. Make sure comments are turned on. If they are then on you edit page or post below where you enter your content, there should be a couple of checkboxes to allow comments. I hope this helps.
