I saved the checklist as a pdf and uploaded it to my media file in
If you have a PDF you want to allow people to download, you need a plugin like Simple Download Monitor. If you want to require people to enter an email to access it, try Easy Sign Up.
With Easy Sign Up, after a person enters their email they are redirected to a page you create that has the download on it.
Thank you!
I'm going to check out Easy Sign Up and see if I can make it work. This has been an all day process installing random plugins and watching YouTube videos to figure it out.
Now I'll go delete all these plugins and check out the ones you recommended.
Thanks so much and Happy New Year!!
Hi there,
I had the same problem as you had.
I figured out that I had to write the blog/post within the page itself in your website and create check-list...bullet points within page as well (hope this make sense )
Happy new year to you and your family and also all in WA,
Cheers....PB
Thanks Phil,
I was trying to insert a downloadable PDF of a checklist I created into one of my posts.
If you come across this task in the future, check out the other comments above to help you so you don't have to do it all within the post.
Thanks for the help and Happy New Year!!

Hey Sean,
Before you add another plugin, I would highly recommend you try using the following steps to uploading and linking your PDF document in WordPress: http://www.wpmadesimple.org/supplementary-guides/adding-pdf-documents/
Think you've perhaps missed a character when linking your PDF or you have not placed it where you should when linking. Either way, try starting over again, following the steps in the post linked above and I'm certain you will be successful.
Thank you!
I had made a checklist on Canva and downloaded it in PDF form using their "PDF (Recommended)" option the first few tries.
Since it kept giving the 403 message after downloading it to my site I went back and tried the other PDF download option on Canva and this fixed it. It started actually linking to the checklist that I created instead of the 403 message.
I'm not sure why the other way wasn't working, especially since it was their recommended way but it all worked out.
Now my only hurdle to get over is requiring an email address to download the checklist so I can grow my list.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain to me above!
Happy New Year!

No. Links in emails have nothing to do with backlinks to your website. A link in an email will merely take people who click on the link to your website. ~Jude

I have two websites focused around, basically the same thing.
If I transfer all of the content on one site over to my other site, will it effect me in a negative way at
My guess would be to do a redirect to a related article on your site. I may be wrong ,but I think this is the safest way.
Are you going to take down your other site?
If the answer is no, then the negative effect will be a duplicate content penalty on one or both of your sites.
If the answer is yes then the negative effect will be that any links and authority that you have at the old site will be lost. In order to help avoid this you can set up a redirect to those pages on your new site. If you use the exact same links except for the domain name, then a wild card dns redirect is probably the easiest way to go unless you have a very small amount of content. If the links change beyond just the domain name then there are redirect plugins you can set up on your old site to redirect the pages individually to your new site.
both sites are only about a month old. I have more content(about 10 posts) on Financial Effort but I like The Dad Hustle better as a blog.
I figured I could go in and fix some of the links as I transferred them since it's only about 10 posts.
Would that be a bad idea to do it that way?
OK let me clarify. Sometimes I have a hard time knowing what terminology to use to explain what I'm trying to say.
I'm not talking about the links on your pages. Those you should absolutely just go in and edit by hand. I'm talking about when someone puts the URL of your old site into the browser you can set it up so that they are redirected to the same page on your new site.
If you only have 10 pages, your site is only a month old, and you're abandoning the old domain, does this matter? Unless the old site has links built to it or has been shared on social media or something, then it's probably not a big deal. You can do it or not as you choose. But keep it in mind if you ever try to do something like this again.
That's awesome. That really does make sense. I'm going to download the redirect plugin and just redirect any traffic to that over to my new one.
Thank you so much!!!
The last that I have heard is that Google will view it negatively. I curious if anyone else has ran into the same issue.
Ya I was wondering if I could just delete the content from the original website after I transfer it over and then maybe since it won't be out there twice it might not effect me as much.
Hopefully someone knows the answer lol
