Update on Mom

So for those following, my mom broke her leg around her Knee Replacement and required a major surgery and several weeks of rehab. She was sent home from Rehab on Friday with a little something extra... COVID-19. She couldn't eat anything, started throwing up, and had a horrible sort throat starting on Sunday or Monday, I couldn't make sense of what Dad was trying to tell us all. The important thing is that he finally took her in to the ER late Monday night and they ran a COVID test and it came back positive.

She was admitted and they are taking good care of her, they told Dad that as soon as she is able to eat and take pills she should be able to go home. I'm still terrified though. She is 76 and Dad is 78, she ticks all the "high-risk" marks you can think of, overweight, type 2 diabetes, recent heart attack, and a parkinson's like disorder. That and the recent surgery all have me worried. She's only 4'9" but she's a fighter.

Update on me

I'm still struggling with my own health as well, so I'm moving much slower than I was hoping to this month. My wife and I are waiting to hear back about a new apartment, it's not far from where we're living now but it's a much newer building and closer to shops. It'll be easier for me to get around with the cane and dizziness I deal with. Plus it has a balcony and there's a small park right next door so the dogs will be happy.

I had my first seizure in several months last night, my wife and I both slept through it. I only know because my neck is so messed up right now that I can't turn my head and the dogs were freaking out when I finally woke up, they were both very concerned about me.

Yes, that includes sn "s" at the end of it, which I'll explain at the end of this section.

I'm still writing, but much slower than usual due to everything else going on. I'm ok with that, but it's tough not seeing the numbers go up as fast they have been. I have several things that are close to going up, but I'm having difficulty pulling the trigger with my final edits. Part of that is the migraine fog that I have right now, It's been very stormy here in the Seattle area, so my brain has not been real happy.

Anyway, Derek Wood, RN (my business partner) and I are working on repurposing a dead project to bring it to WA. It will be a big change and an even bigger undertaking when we finally launch. I'm trying to hold off until I see some real revenue coming in from yakbots.com because we're going to need some medical content and that means paying someone else to review Derek's work. Derek can review the work from anyone else, but we can't have him reviewing his own work to make sure it's solid.

I'm also putting together the concept for my local Day Tripping site, I don't expect it to be as profitable, but it will be used as an excuse to force us t get out of the house once or twice a month and explore the area. All our exploites will be put together as ideas for others to follow and will hopefully help us have a little fun along the way too.
