Why Did You Join Wealthy Affiliates?
So, why are you here?
I figure most members are here to make money of course, but that might not be the only reason you are here. There are reasons other than money that can explain why you joined and are working so hard here at Wealthy Affiliate.
For myself, I retired early at age 53. I had never intended to retire two years early but I did because of a couple of reasons: 1) I was in a bad working environment and 2) I was starting to have health issues that the stress of my working situation made worse. I still have nightmares about that work situation even 12 years later - I am so glad I was able to get out when I did. The good thing was FDA was offerring buyouts at that time that I was able to take advantage of. The not-so good thing was that I was not mentally ready to quit the workforce.
Even though once I retired, I was working full time at my former part time photography studio and loved it, that only lasted for 5 years before I had to sell out due to health issues. So there I was in full retirement at age 58. Not having to do the physical part of photography (crawling around the floor getting kids pics, moving props in and out, etc. was good) but I was not mentally ready to stop contributing to society and earning for my family.
I know that is why I started searching for ways to work out of my home after I had to start using a wheelchair all the time. My mind wanted something interesting and rewarding to do and I wanted to be a contributor to my families income. Not that I wasn't - I had a great pension; but I wanted to use my intellect to do something worthwhile.
Basically I am a member of WA because of 3 reasons:
1. I want to earn extra for my family and grandkids.
2. I want to use my mind and create something rewarding and worthwhile.
3. I love to learn and use what I learn.

Interesting thing I am seeing now is they have changed order.
I know the money will come as long as i follow training so thats number 3 now.
Meeting like minded community is a dream come true. Connecting, supporting, sharing and understanding what Im doing is huge. I don't worry about that now.
So the final is putting myself out there. To be aware of my thoughts and feelings. Changing them as quickly as possible. Stay focused and dreams in my vision.
Uplift others to keep going, helps big time.
The biggest work is on myself!

Thank you for sharing this post - Having a why is so important when you are building an online future and mine is to create a worthwhile biz that eventually creates an income over and above what I receive now and I am prepared to work consistently on my content and everything else needed to do this
Extra income will give me more choice on what I can do and this is so great

Great, great question Shirley. I came here originally to make money, but money motivation can go only so far. I knew coming in I had to find a niche that was front and foremost or y'know a passion that people might have a personal need and will welcome it, otherwise, it'll run out of steam and go nowhere.
The fuel for my choice had to be my "Passion." I love to draw. I had it in me from a very young age. It, fortunately, continued into my adult years and now in my golden years.
This powerful passion only helped me here at WA for a very important reason to share my niche to the world.l
I ranked high in my profession here in Hawaii and with that I decided to make a website to build a tutorial business.
Yeah, I know, I could easily do a WA website to sell this here program but I chose not for now. I have not made a dime as of yet but am confident it will in time. I found an advertising vehicle in WA platform to do this and I am so grateful to Kyle and Carson.
I am about almost finished with my website and am quite happy with the creation. All I must say I am proud and responsible for.
What is my next plan??? I will make a WA site.
Being a baby boomer, I have not planned my retirement. I intend to be a success in it. I have no doubt in my mind, now that I know
something about making a more than half-decent 1st site.
The skies the limit Shirley and I know I will get there.

Thanks so much for sharing. I joined because I want to create more freedom. I hate having to revolve my life around my full time job:(
want to earn extra income and turn it around to my main income, but also enjoying the learning part, plus can reach more people sharing with what I have learned in a lifetime busy with sport and nutrition
I wanted to earn a secondary income to pay for the childcare expenses and eventually produce a secondary income. I enjoy writing about things I love and want others to express the same "liking"
