Where do you stand on Content?

"Content is King"

We have all heard that quote, but have we truly taken it to heart. How much content are we actually creating? for myself:

Niche site 1: I have 69 posts, 280 comments, 16 pages

Niche site 2: I have 42 posts, 50 comments, 32 pages

WA promotional site: I have 56 posts, 285 comments, 15 pages.

Unfortunately, I have diluted my efforts by working on several other blog sites. I need to concentrate on these 3 sites and reach 100 good posts on each site by the end of the year and keep getting comments also. That means I need to:

  1. create 136 good posts by New Years (7 weeks - that's 19 new posts each week which is impossible for me, so I need to concentrate on one site - probably the WA site and try to get 44 posts done by New Years. That's 6 posts each week. I need to concentrate on "top 10, etc." and review type posts if possible. I need to create a post each day of the week.
  2. get comments for each new post (by trading comments with other members)
  3. still promote the Black Friday Special and also holiday affiliate products
  4. keep learning on WA and in Jay's webinar, and reading the books I already have, mostly the one on copywriting.
  5. promote on social media
  6. spend less on extra training (to satisfy my husband) and nothing on ads.

So those are going to be my goals for the rest of the year.

My Questions to each of you:

  1. How many posts did your site(s) have when you noticed more $$ success?
  2. How many posts/comments do you have now on your sites?
  3. What are your content goals for the rest of the year?

Thanks

-Shirley

Hi Shirley, great post.

I only have 1 site with 26 posts and 286 comments. This is my 3rd month with WA. No sales yet. I want to write more but have limited time so been thinking about ad campaign to aid sales and Janelle kind of convinced me :)
Wish everybody best of luck.
Marisa

26 posts, you are on your way. I suggest more posts rather than ads. Spend your money on good PLR content to kick start your content creation. Are you using a "checklist" after creating your posts? Check out this training by Jay. I have a spreadsheet that I keep up with each new post to my sites and the lists of stuff I need to do after publishing. Check out my WA post on "The value of a blog spreadsheet"

Hi, thanks for your advice. Yes, i´ve done that training and I do go thru a checklist but still have few posts, so I dont expect big things at this stage. I´m patient but thought a campaign might be fun to run for a while. Cheers!

Let us know how the ad campaign works. I've only done one ad campaign and it was not successful for my WA site, no new referrals. here's a tutorial on Youtube. https://youtu.be/KwrJgDL5JYE

Many thanks. will do. I already run other ads for the offline business. Good day.

Interesting post with some good points some of which I can relate to and to answer the questions you have asked

First of all, like you I have 3 sites and boy they are hard work to maintain, something has to give, otherwise a confused mind does nothing, so

I now have a Blog ,built in accordance with the training here and to which I add or at least do my best to add 3 articles a week and I wrote a post on my own blog about this, so forgive the link but it better explains it

https://davehayes.co/how-many-blog-posts-should-you-write-a-week/

I have now concluded, that because we are ALL brands to write about the subjects I know best about on ONE blog, then promote that ONE blog everywhere, through all my social media profiles

While that might sound a lot of hard work, I have developed a strategy which works nicely and doesn't take a lot of time

I have a freelance blog, to which I add nothing, it just contains my services and A blog part, which has reviews on the businesses I use when Anthea (my wife) and I travel, OR we sue locally to where we are

Both of my blogs/sites are linked to each other by way of footer pretty links and get clicked on, or so my stats tell me!!

As for what my content goals are, well with the plan being to continue writing 3 posts a week that should evolve into a nice working monetry plan

BUT in the main ONE main site.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Both of my sites have an autoresponder atttached which can be used equally for on and offline businesses

I read your blog post and its very interesting. Left a comment too.

Thanks Shirley, I read, approved and replued

Got the report and saved it to read. Thanks.

Well done

Hi SDawson,
Wow! Sounds like you need to clone yourself.
Don

Yes I believe I need 2 clones - 1 for each site.

Great post
Just started a little over a month
Have two websites
One with seven posts ... two comments
One with sixteen posts ... seven comments
Sixteen posts on WA
I’ll keep writing
Tim

Hope you get it all done. I have about 50 posts on my site I haven’t made any money yet. I’m here a little under 3 months

3 months and 50 posts is good, keep creating good content and the sales will come. Don't forget to add affiliate links to your posts and do review posts as well as "Top" posts (like "Top 10 ...." or "Best ? of 2019". I was here 3 years before I even added my first affiliate link. Don't be like me. -Shirley

don't forget to ask for comments on your post. Use the comment tool or you can go to the "comment give and take thread" like I do.

Thanks for the advice. I will do that

I'm like you, was diluting my efforts trying to work on several sites at one time. Now I concentrate on just 2--

My Niche site--10 Posts, 8 Pages, 242 Comments

I let this site sit idle for about a year and a half after creating it, then about 3 months ago I redesigned it with a new theme, reworked a few of the old posts, and I've just started to write new content.

I've also started an experimental ad campaign with this site. So I'm making about $150 a month on average, but I'm just starting to be profitable after subtracting my ad costs. I have high hopes for this site because what I've found from my ads is that if I can get traffic, I can definitely get sales with this niche.

My Bootcamp site--116 Posts, 14 Pages, 2347 Comments

I would have a lot more posts on this site, but I've been working on videos for YouTube to get more traffic to my channel. So in the meantime, I've been revising and republishing old posts for the last few months.

I've made just over $600 from this site so far this year, but I think the earnings from both sites will start ramping up as I work on adding a lot more content to both sites.

Let's make 2020 our year!

Janelle

Janelle, looks like you are on your way. 116 posts for the WA site is awesome, also the 2000+ comments. Keep up the great work. Wishing you an awesome 2020. -shirley

Hi Janelle, thanks for this info. I was waiting to add more posts (have 26 right now) before trying an ad campaign, but maybe I can already go for it. Cheers. Marisa

The best things you can do are start with a small budget and study Kyle's lessons for starting an ad campaign. He stresses that relevance is key to a successful campaign, and I've found that to be 100% true!

Good luck!

Janelle

Great! thanks

Thanks Shirley,
This is a great eye opener for me

Great job, and best of luck in your content goat.
