Commission Junction partners always decline my join
Commision Junction (CJ) Program doesn't like me
It doesn't matter which merchant I try to join via CJ, my join is always declined. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi, it looks like you got some good answers -- it seems to be about enough content and enough persistence!
Me too - I did some research and it appears to be traffic number thresholds... Lunkily I have found others but I guess time will tell to see if it is that or something else...
I feel like writing back and saying "come on guys - I am trying to promote YOUR products"
I did find better results elsewhere however once I started adding a lot of information to my applications too.
I do like Ben's advice below too...

Hi Shirley,
I tried joining CJ back a couple of years ago. I got the same thing-decline.
In my casse, I didn't have a lot of content on my website may be only 15-20 articles. I wouldn't think that should be a factor.
I tried to join another affiliate about the same time period, they were straight forward enough to tell me "not enough content". At least I knew why.
In your case, I don't know what the reason might be if you have ample articles and they still give a decline?
Holly has a possible solution, that is to contact (if you can) them by e-mail or telecom. So many of these companies are so well insulated these days it might be hard to get through.
Sorry I couldn't give you a better answer.
Bill
The saying I found when I first started was to make sure you contact them first. Don't wait around or you will likely be denied.
not sure what you mean about contact them first. Do you mean email the specific vendor about joining their affiliate program?
Email, phone, in person something where you state your case explaining why you want to join. Sometimes you have to do a bit more digging to gather the right information t do this.
I stopped using CJ a few years ago after I wasn't making enough for their taste and they warned me I needed more income to stay in the program. I was busy writing mysteries at the time so I just let it go. I like shareasale -- have you tried it?.
I was just accepted yesterday. I've applied for both Namecheap and Godaddy. Namecheap accepted me today. I think you should write some relevant detail in your network profile. They seem to analyze it before accepting any affiliate.

Hey, maybe I can add some insight here!
There was a company within CJ that I was very passionate about joining. I remember the feeling of my heart absolutely plummeting when I got the notification within the program “sorry, your application was not approved.”
I wouldn’t have it. I clicked on the notification and hit reply. I remember pouring my soul into my reply, speaking of my passion for the brand, how I intend to promote their brand, and asking them what I needed to do to be accepted.
The lady who responded was very kind. She simply stated that she didn’t really see content on my website yet that was directly related to their store (my website wasn’t very developed at this time.)
So I immediately took action. I busted out a 5000 word article that was very relevant to the company I wanted to promote and even promoted their website within, no affiliate links. Right when I hit publish, I wrote back to the lady and asked her if she could check again.
Within 24 hours, she sent me a personal invitation to join the program, and I accepted. I got my affiliate link and replaced my links within my blog post with my personal affiliate links.
I hope this helps! This was my personal experience with CJ!
All the best to you!
It is very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
great story
Great answer, thank you!
