Reliving a Memory
Last night my husband and I attended our grandson's Lacrosse game. Garrett is 8 years old and has been playing sports since he was 4. He plays soccer, basketball, football and just recently Lacrosse.
When I watch him play the memories of my son, his dad, playing sports just flow through my mind. At my age of 69 it is as if I am watching my son grow up playing sports again as well as watching my grandson grow up playing sports.
The joy that this brings me is immeasurable. I have only missed a couple of Garrett's games in 4 years and I never missed a game that my son played.
I have a little plaque that read "Grand-children are your reward for not killing your own kid". I find this funny and read it often.
If you have Grand-children you understand this post and love and enjoy every moment you spend with them.
Make new memories as you relive the old memories.

Very nice! Im going out to visit my children and grandchildren this morning. And yes they really do remind us of our own children when they were little. I have a granddaughter who looks identical to her mom when she was little. They are all so awesome!
Very nice, Sarah. Thanks for sharing.
My wife has said on more than one occasion that if the last child (of five) was first, he would have been an only child.
But then we would be missing nine grandkids.
I understand completely how you feel as one grandparent to another. Thanks for sharing.
