I decided to look at my google analytics today for the first time in a week(been having some personal stuff going on and didn't bother in between) and it seems like it stopped work

Sometimes when you change your theme it can break your analytics code, or it may break for other various reasons.

How do you have your code installed on your website? If you don't already, try pasting the code into the "All in One SEO" pack plugin options, there's a box for GA code. That should help it keep it from breaking for whatever reason.

Here is something thats related. I just posted.

Here's an interesting article that I found useful and wanted to share. http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/google-analytics-acquisition-reports/

hey there, i'm curious, did it work at all and then stop or was it the first time you checked in and did not find what you were looking for, because usually if its google, it affects everybody and mine works.

Mine seems okay, but it does lag at times.

I don't think Analytics is broken for me but I do sometimes get the impression it's inaccurate when I look at webmaster tools.

Hi if you go to real time view do you see active sessions? which way did you added code? if you edited any theme files then after theme update you can lose the code

Hey Maksim, Thanks for the quick response :)

The code has been updated for the last 2 weeks, and the traffic has only been unseen for the last 3 days :(

Also, I have tried getting on the site with both my desktop and my cell phone and nothing shows in real time results. I don't have either of them filtered(or at least I removed the filter to test) so it should show me if I was on the site I think.

I would just like to know if I am getting any traffic at all since I actually can't see any for the last few days and I can't find a way to get anything to come up for me.

Just went on your site so have a look stats now, try reading the code just in case?

Not reading that you visited but I am about to read over the code and see what I can find :)

Ok i see that you use bit more advance analytics than me, check maybe this https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/

I am getting an HTTP error when I am trying to upload images to my WP site, not sure why this would happen in specific. I tried to look up some solutions but found that the subjec

Normally on a wp website you can upload about 5 mb per document, but you can change thatbin your wp settings. If you really have a very big document, use the ftp, but be aware, your website will slow down with large documents ( videos). You better load the to youtube or vimeo and embed the video.

Great info to learn! Thank you! :)

Great help session! Thanks, everyone!

Your right Carla it was a great help session see what you can do in numbers YEA!!

Thanks for all of the suggestions. changing the name worked, and now I know why; I had an apostrophe in both of the ones I was trying last night, and wordpress doesn't like those :) I simply took them out and the images uploaded fine :)

Great Glad to find the problem

had it with a couple of my pictures and found out they were not compatible with the WP other than that all has been fine now

Try renaming the pictures. I had a similiar problem before but when I started give my pics random names before I uploaded them, the problem disappeared.

I tried renaming the pictures but it didn't make any difference even though it seems to have worked for some people.

Are you uploading your pictures cia wordpress or FTP? If you uploadibg via wordpress just go to media and select a picture amd insert ...

http://wordpress.org/support/topic/http-error-on-image-upload-361
try searching this link see if it helps

where are you getting them.If on the internet some times you can not copy. where did you save them, try saving them to a file on your computer first.

You have to see what format of the image. Wordpress only accept .png and .jpg

I already have it saved as .png, I uploaded 5 and then hit the error :/

Size also matters, how big is the file. I think max is 2M. You can copy and paste it in Paint first, resize it then save and attach.

I checked that too, it is only 72 KB in size :)

Thanks for the help though Mister Wailor :)

I ran into a bit of an issue today in my page and I want to fix it, but I am unsure of one thing; is it okay to cut my content from one page and put it into a separate page for the

It is always tricky know how much content to have on each page, do not see any reason why you cannot do it, some people have the read more button on their blog page, left a comment at your site

Excellent job on your site Scott. It's very clean and concise. It is also very inspiring, because now I'm getting interested in maybe assembling my own system someday since you make it seem possible. I see no reason you couldn't break up that page though, can only help right. :) Good discussion too. Thanks.
Joel

I also did this on my site and now I feel like it is much more user friendly and cleaner looking.

I'm about to do the same thing so I appreciate you asking the question and all the great advice here!

Another helpful lesson
Ty..

I did that, contr all, copy and pasted it on another page, and everything kept working

You can do what ever you like to do. I am constantly working on my site.

Yes! It will definitely be better for it, and that's what matters most in the long run.

I believe smaller pages are better when your concern for holding reader engagement outweighs your concern for ranking. You have to weigh the pros and cons of each.

I am only ranking on one page at the moment, and I would prefer to improve my site so that people who see it don't run away because of the walls of text. I think the reader engagements being better might help improve my rank in the long run, I just don't know if google will penalize me for having some of my content moved from one page to another :)

I think it is worth it regardless though, because the site is about helping others over selling products and ranking :) Thanks Steve!

The rankings will balance out in the end. If reader engagement is the higher priority, shorter pages is probably the way to go.

Its your site you can do whatever you like to make it better! Go for it!

Thanks for the support Alan :) I think I am going to do it!

No problem glad to hlep!

I honestly have seen a lot of talk about the use of headers, and I don't know what to take from it all in general, but I think I have made a decision.

Where possible, I thin

Hello Scott,

Allow me to give you my 2 cents worth.

Recently there were some issues with the All in One SEO Plugin
and a few people started looking for alternatives and the one that
stuck out was the Yoast , https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/

You will need to use 2 plugins :
- WordPress SEO
- Google Analytics for WordPress

I particularly like the features of the WordPress SEO in that it gives
you SEO guidelines when writing out an article (page/post) about SEO suitability.

To Our Success Online,
Jonicas

I've used Yoast successfully on other blogs in the past.

Hi Jonicas, what issues with ( all In One SEO ) where there?

Coach Ed

Hello Croninweb,

This happened a couple of months ago, there was some security alarm of some sort with a need to upgrade and at about the same time I got to learn about Yoast.

I checked out Yoast and was happy to change my SEO package to Yoast.

By the way, I am still looking for a solid security solution as I have read somewhere that up to 30000 WP sites get hacked daily, if you know of anything good in that field I would very interested.

To Our Success Online,
Jonicas

I agree with what others have said. As amdmtx said, don't be misleading in your headline, but you can use some "power words" if appropriate. You want your site to be one of authority, that people can trust you.

think of the essence of article or post and you have to squeeze all into two, three words.. Sometimes it is hard, do not rush. the right idea will eventually come. It is good that you are aware about Google latest policies, as they cracking down on people who provide mislead information. As an example, everybody are aware about are headers like; " WA IS SCAM !!!!!! " and than when we wonder inside actually we are finding our fellow members promoting WA program :). I guess, this is kind of "thinking outside the box" example. People are searching for negative comments abut WA before joining and simply they very hard to find. Promoting such of headline will bring much more clicks to your site... It it OK to do that? If Google will asses you as spreader of misleading information once, it will always be on your record and this will affect how they will rank your site in future. They very clear about this.. .

Hi Scott! - Thank you for starting this discussion - I am learning so much!

I strongly agreed with KatieMac, and video training by Jay on that topic also really helpful.

Keywords in your headers help improve you changes with search engines. this may be of help to you it is one hour long but worth watching.

From my understanding ..your keywords should be including in your header and somewhere in your 1st paragraph of post ....Thats how i am doing it .. .. I do videos the same way

I am doing a new concept for my page where I post up recommended computer builds to people so that they can buy a set list of computer parts for building their own computer. I was

I think the way I would do this is to create a review or information page for the part you are recommending. Link to Amazon on this page.

For your lists, link to the information page for each part. This will allow you to get ranked for the parts and give people the list that they need to get moving.

You could also post alternate parts on the information page. Sort of related posts etc.

Wow you got some great comments here. I was needing this question asked also. It seems to be less is more. I like the idea of having a page with alot of links and then posts without links or so. A store page might work for what your talking about. good luck
Have a great day!

I think you just need to find a balance between your content and affiliate links, the more content you have on a page, the more affiliate links you can include.

What works really well is having a centralized offer or page where most of your links are, and then just write seperate posts that link back to your main offer page, rather than directly to the seller's site.

So for example, it'd be ok if you created a page with several affiliate links for your recommended computer builds, and then wrote seperate blogs that would link back to that specific page where they could find what they're looking for.

It's okay to have a page on your site with lots of links, just as long as you have lots of other pages that are mostly content!

From what I been seeing, 2 is sufficient as long as your content is there. There is big push for CONTENT. You should try to limit to two, but I three on my Getting Started page - also try to use different links - like your personal Profile and WA Invite link.

This is helpful so you do use the same link over and over.

COOL?

I think both are good ideas, using the same link over and over or different links. To many? Thats possible also,so use your judgement and congrats on google ranking. Great subject matter. I have a friend that builds computers around $3000 each and he did not know very much about building websites. I was pleased to show him what Ive learned here at WA

Hi Scott! - Thank you for asking that question!

It would appear 'less is more' - limit it to three per page/post.

I will follow this tread with interest!

I'm learning a lot!

I wish you Great Success!

David

Thanks everyone for the comments, I really appreciate it :)

If you were reading your blog as a visitor, what would set well with you? Helping people find what they need is very useful and if your links are in the text, it seems to work well. Just do not get carried away. Two to three per blog are really a max.

During Kyles lessons it was suggested that we do not add more than three per page/post..

I have made money from having related affiliate links on my blog posts in which I share also with social media. If people are interested in the topic, I feel it can be a great service to show them the next step to utilize the information. Not all posts I share have them, just the relevant ones. Try it all to learn what works. Wishing you great success. :) xoxoxo

Hi. As I understand it it's best not to have them all over the place. I generally link from my blog posts to my product reviews page so there aren't affiliate links on the blogs. But I'm new to this so I'll be interested to see what other more experienced members have to say!
