The standard WP tab icon on my websites is BUGGING me. OCD kicking in! lol Thanks in advance.

all in one Favicon is good I just used it on a clients site and it works well and is really easy to use

Barry

Yeah, you can use a plugin.

If, like me, you would like to reduce the number of plugins on your site, it is easy enough to use a free online favicon generator, save the image as an .ico file, upload the image to the media library, then add a one-line code to the header.php file.

If interested, type in "favicon without a plugin" into Google search and I'm sure you'll find tutorials for how to do this. I managed to do mine, so it must be easy...lol.

~Jude

I totally agree with Jude on this one. A plugin takes up too much resources from your site to complete such a small task. It's a lot better to just upload a favicon. Many theme even offer that option these days ;)

Looks like your covered. Good luck Scott

I also use all in one favicon

Thanks!

I use All In One Favicon for themes that do not have a favicon option. You may find this helpful: ~Marion

Awesome! Thank you much!

I have viewed several training videos and course methods on adding links in pages and posts using editor. I can not get the link button to do anything. I have a Mac and pop up bloc

PluginBear LikeLock was the one blocking my link pop up. Thanks Keith

No prob, glad it helped.

I had this problem about a month ago, I thought it might be a theme problem. I emailed the theme developer, and the first thing they had me do was to deactivate all of my plugins, and see if that cures the problem. It did, and so I just reactivated the plugins one-by-one until I found the faulty plugin. Sorry, I can't remember which plugin was causing the problem though.

I am having trouble adding links. I have watched some training and I noticed my wordpress dashboard side panel does not have the same set up as the training. No "LINKS" option. Als

Yes, but no window popped up like in the training. I have a MAC and I have the pop-up blocker turned off.

Try to put your link at the text widget.

Did you try highlighting the words where you want to add your links?

I have been able to add product links to my site but I am having trouble getting banners to load. Each time the Amazon window says it can not " something" or it may be a bad link.

I know this is old, and you've probably resolved it by now, but sometimes if you try opening the page with an incognito window, the banners will show. You can go from there to find out why they are not showing normally.

It, may help,to fix Amazon or other banners ? https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-fix-truncated-banner-image-on-website.

Very interesting video! Never knew this could be done right on WP!

This was asked some time ago. Did you ever get it resolved?

Yes, then Amazon dropped me as an affiliate because I live in Maine. Stupid state politics

Anyone using EzineArticles with success instead of or in conjunction with Street Articles? Is this a good option to drive traffic to your site?

Good information in this thread. Carson has cleared up a lot of misconceptions I had.

Kali

Street Articles is going to work better than EzineArticles, but the idea of an article directory is different in 2013 than it was in the past. Use article directories for two purposes.

1 - To help the search engines find your website. Link an article from Street Articles to your website and within a few minutes Google will know about your website.

2 - You can get some quick traffic from Article Directories while your domain is brand new.

You want to focus building your website content so that your own domain ranks. This does not take very long, so I suggest that you focus spending most of your time writing for your website rather than Article Directories.

It's great to give your site a link every once in a while to give new entrance points to your site for the search engines, but in reality, once you're indexed, Google will continue to crawl your site the more you add content. If you add content every day, you'll be crawled 100's of times a day and your content on your website will be ranked very quickly.

To answer your question, use Street Articles over Ezine Articles. We provide quality control at Street Articles which is rare in the Directory industry. You do not want to link to your website from a directory that has poor quality content on it as it can negatively affect your rankings. Ezine has a lot of questionable content on there that is spun or full of grammar errors. This kind of content can make your site guilty by association.

Hope this helps.

Helps tremendously, I started an article last night and wanted to ask before I finished it tonight. I will just transfer the content to street articles and finish it there because it has not been published yet. Thanks for the quick response.

Good stuff Scott! I've mentioned before that when folks get started with a new domain they can spread the time between article writing and their own website 50/50, but now I'd say it's more like 3 blogs on your own website to 1 article on a directory. You do not need 100 articles to achieve great things, you just need to let the search engines know about your site, then let your website content do the work.

In our WA bootcamp, our website that Kyle is using as a case study has had ZERO back links from article directories and he's getting between 500 and 1000 visits a day from that site already and it's only a few months old. We're using all the techniques from the bootcamp on that site and focusing 100% on quality content and natural growth.
