Do I have to register a domain in australia with a .au extension
Registering a domain in australia?
Do I have to register a domain in australia with a .au extension
Hi Shane
Because it is www world wide web, it would be more beneficial if you want to go worldwide to have a .com domain however if you want to keep it local to Australia then .com.au may be ok
Hope this helps
Vicki
Thanks Vicki, it's a bit confusing this country code extension thing. If I buy a domain .com and then someone comes along in Australia and buys a .com.au with the same name i'm really going to miss out on my presence in Australia aren't I?
Not at all- .com's will win out especially if you build a really great site filled with lots of good content. My websites are seen by USA, Canada, Britain, OZ, NZ and others. It is so great and being here getting comments on your posts in your website really benefits your growth,, big time. .com if you can - No.1
:)

Hey mate. I agree with vickic3 in that .com's will win out if done well. However, you might want to consider buying the .au domain name too, and park it.
Also you cannot get a .au domain name through Wealthy Affiliate.
I ran my own .au website for a while and got page 1 rankings for certain keywords.
Hi Steve
That's exactly what I was thinking. I have purchased the .com domain through WA and I think I will purchase the .au just in case. Tks
Hi Vicki
Going back to our discussion last month re: domains in Australia. You mention in your post that your websites are seen by USA, Canada, Britain etc. I was wondering how you are handling the products for those other countries. I am still having trouble with my target audience. I was primarily promoting products through Amazon in America, however I have found that I am getting enquiries in Australia and don't have links to products that can be delivered in Australia.
Also I was wondering if it is possible to become an affiliate through the American Amazon. The reason I ask is today I was writing an article and the product I am promoting through Amazon can be delivered to Australia, but not USA.
I'm not really using Amazon in my website Steve so can't really help you with this
I was using them in a website I gifted to another member here and I know 1000''s of members here do use Amazon so maybe ask in live chat or something :)
