The Power of Awareness.

Every morning, starting early, I have quiet time, where I read, I meditate, I do affirmations, check my to do list and anything else that will make my day a good day. It is the best time of the day for me. It is my special time and I just love it. At the moment I am reading from The Power of Awareness by Neville Goddard, Chapter 3 (The Power of Assumption) and Chapter 14 (The Effortless Way). It doesn't take long. About 20 minutes. I have been reading these chapters every morning for a little while now so that I understand them and they become part of me. They say repetition is the best way to learn.

To grow Neville says, "Man's chief delusion is his conviction that there are causes other than his own state of consciousness." I am learning the reality is all that comes from man happens as a direct result of his own state of consciousness i.e all his thoughts, desires and loves and all that he believes and consents to.

Neville suggests to grow and achieve the outer world one aspires to, it is necessary to change our consciousness. Thoughts cannot change unless we have new ideas. We think from our ideas. The first step in new ideas is that we must have the desire to be different. We must make our future dream a present fact. This is done by assuming the feeling of our dream being fulfilled and we are already that person in our dream. We live by faith in that assumption. We alone are the only one that can accept the task of creating the new and greater value of our self.

To produce this effect and to grow, to assume the feeling of greater life, to assume a new concept of yourself, Neville further suggests, that we possess what the rest of nature does not possess - Imagination - the instrument by which we create our world.

I accept and understand all that Neville Goddard is saying and am very much still a student. In saying that I struggle sometimes with " we are already that person in our dream" or in plain English "fake it till we make it".

If all the " fake it till you makers" out there would like to share their secrets, I would be grateful.

Stephen.

This reminds me of Napoleon Hill's quote: "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." I never tire of his book "Think and Grow Rich"

Regarding that morning quiet time, I agree with you. I love it to get my day started.

My mantra is Look the part, Act the part, then Be the part! I even posted about it!

Jeffrey. "Where the mind goes, the feet will follow."
Thank you.
Have a great day.

I like that too, Stephen!

Good post Stephen.
Another version: What we think about, we bring about.
Many dwell upon what they don't have in their lives. Focussing on what you intend to have is good especially when you use the great feeling that comes with knowing they will be yours.
I find gratitude is a good habit. It brings even more to be grateful for.

Thank you Linda for your involvement. Gratitude is a good habit.
Have a great day.
Stephen.
