Hi all!

So, I always SEO my photos title and alt text once they are uploaded but it just occurred to me that the file names they were on my computer have not been. Does

Great question and I am glad to read Smartketeer's answer! I've learned something super useful thanks to the 2 of you! 😊

Hi Sarah,

Yes. A keyword rich file name will help you with your SEO efforts.

See this

Goldmine! Thank you so much!

You're welcome!

:( this plugin didn't work. I ran it twice and clicked rename all to the suggested. It says done but when I go back to the media library they all still have the same old name. What am I missing?

I gave you a screenshot with every single step. And it works for me and for everybody else ... So obviously, you are missing something ... But, how could I tell you the reason without access to your site?

Should I be renaming photos on my computer before uploading?

Hi all! I am super confused about titles. It was my understanding that your exact keyword should be included in your title as well as first paragraph. Great! BUT I'm finding fo

The AIO uses your post title as the meta title because they are basically the same. However you can add to your title in the meta title tag for better SEO.

Example...

I had a great long tail keyword for my Getting Started page on my website but it wouldn’t fit the menu tab. So I saved the page as it was without the keyword. If using Site Content you would have to publish it.

Then I went into my Meta Title Tag, retyped my title Getting Started then did a space, a dash - another space and then added my keyword. When people see my website it just says Getting Started but in Google it says Getting Started - My Keyword

Fantastic! thank you so much!!

My pleasure.

Hello Sarah! I don't use the All in one SEO plugin. Instead, I use Yoast, and it allows you to make the title and meta title different. The title is what's on the top of your post/page. The meta title is the title search users will see in the SERPS. It's easier if the title and the meta title are the same, and I usually don't mess with that. Either way, you wouldn't want an awkward title or meta title. You want to write a captivating title for humans and let keyword research be secondary. I'd keep doing keyword research to find something less awkward.

Just fill in the meta title with your post title. You can change the meta title if you like but really you are just overthinking it.

You want to write for your audience, not the search engines.

Hi all! So I have decided to open another site in a different niche but some content overlaps. Meaning, I want to share the same posts I've created on both sites. What is the be

Thank you everyone! This is what I feared, I guess I'll be rewriting some things!

Hi - no, you can't do this. Google will see it as duplicate content and put you back in its rankings.

New way different wording unless you put quotes around the content from start to end, italicize it and cite the source, even if you own the content, duplication is never allowed no matter what.

And "cited" content, is not enough to get found on page one.

Think about Google, they want to index your content if it's quality original and new, but if you keep giving them the same content to index, they will devalue your sites altogether because that's seen as spamming. So just same post concepts and different wording.

Because you already have published content if you just copy it to another site, it will not be ignored by the search engines, not doing you any good.

So, you'll want to re-write the content in a different way. This also allows you to target a different keyword if you like.

This particular thing should be done sparingly, I have sites where the topics intermix a lot, but I avoid interlinking them together. The only time I share my article on more than 1 source is through social media channels.

What if I want to share the same post on more than one site?

So I'm a little confused about the SEO rating in Jaxxy and it's completely throwing me off as to which keywords to choose.

I fully understand the AVG/TRAFFIC/QSR/KQI but

Sarah,

Let me see if I can explain this right - with all those keywords
the real keyword is "budgeting apps" all the other words are
to describe them.

Therefore, selecting any of the ones above in the search need
more clarification - have you seen what Google had when you
did a search on there?

Sometimes we need to expand our search to include what we
are really looking for as a great keyword and changing the
words around will produce different results.

The more you gain experience the better equipped you are
going to be in determining which keyword phrase to use with
the content you are planning to write.

Hope this helps answer your question.
Susan

So you're saying I need to elaborate onto the searches that are in Jaxxy above? Like adding additional words like: best budget apps for the iphone in 2019? More specific?

I have rearranged the words and used similar words and this is still the best list I could come up with.

I think I'm still confused as to what ranking holds more weight...

Thank you for your help though!

Sarah,

You are basically overthinking the process - like I said the actual keywords are "budget apps" notice they appear in all of the
results - so in order to rank for those in the number 1 position then
you want the least competition which is
the first one on the list -

In order to accomplish this you need to write content longer
more detailed and better than all the others have!!

What I like to do is Google what I am using and check to see
what the competition is writing and how long are the posts but
another good thing to look at is how old are they!!

See how you can figure out if the keyword is the best :)

Does this make more sense for you,
Susan

Ohhhhh...lightbulb on. The SEO ranking is how you will rank for the keyword you searched with that phrase. That makes so much more sense!

Thank you again for your help Susan!

Sarah,

But you can move it up as long as you produce better content
than the others - you are now getting the idea great ::))

Susan

Yes! I totally get it now! And then use the Jaxxy "search analysis" to pull the info (word count, backlinks etc) for the competition and I will know what I have to beat!

You have no idea how much you have helped me!

Thank you x100

Sarah,
Once you move along more in training and talk
to the other members here you will gain even
more knowledge into how to do your research
for now do not try to overload yourself go with
the KISS method of Keep It Simple and you can
guess the last S LOL
