Not sure why it would happen but try the key commands. Copy with Ctrl+C and then paste with Ctrl+V. See if that works
Yes, that's what I was doing, but for some reason it was still getting hung up. I restarted my computer and its all good now, so I think it was just that!

In Google searching "can i control where google adsense ads appear on site" (without the quotation marks, of course) I saw several helpful tutorials offered, of which the top 3 were from Google.

Finally got it, I had unlocked my account but the privacy did need to be turned off too. Thanks Marion!
I don’t know what was going on with my hostgator account but I was able to access it through my phone.
This really is such a great community! If it weren’t for you guys I’d have been googling this issue for hours on end! Haha
Sometimes those domain emails can take a couple hours. Don't forget to check spam and other folders if you're using Gmail.
HG support may have more insight into any steps you skipped along the way.
I would imagine the HG lockout isn't related to the domain transfer. Try resetting your password and see if that works.

The first step in transferring a domain name is to disable privacy. If privacy is still in force then whois doesn't have your correct email address.
