I know that it is still far off, but I was wondering, for Black Friday 2018, would you use the article you used in 2017 to promote WA again this year, just change the publish d

This is awesome SantaFez.
November comes and we're on it.

You've given enough time for preparation. Thanks for that.
And the best part is - you are going to be grandmothered with that subscription.

WOOhoo!

As below, if it worked, go for it. If it didn't then ditch it.

Did the old one convert? Did the old one target the top needs of your customers? If you are happy with it, then go for it!

Why not use it again, can't see a problem with that.

Thank you all for your answers, I think that a revision of the current article with the relevant updates - as you suggest,- will be the way to go and of course change the publishing date accordingly.
Much appreciated
Orion

It sounds like you can use it again. Just be sure the facts are correct and it is engaging. Good luck,

tom

My understanding of a rewrite is to, YES change the date, and to alter and rewrite the first paragraph. I personally would alter the first two paragraphs, then whatever changes are in the new 2018 Black Friday special.

WOW, good work, you are planning ahead!!!

That's a good question Orion. I would rewrite with all the changes in WA like Robert said.

Tried and True

Elaine

Best to go for a rewrite because there have been changes within WA since last year.
Only my opinion so go with what you believe is right for you and your site.
Robert

If it was a good article, I'd edit the publish date. If the article did not convert, I'd have another crack at it this year.

Would you use an old promo?

Hello everyone,

I thought of trying the live option in FB for the first time, but everytime I try it, it says that I have blocked camera access and that I have to go to m

I don't know about this it doesn't make any sense why the camera would be denied access. I am sorry that I can't help with this because I never heard of this before.

Love your post, thanks for sharing.

Hope you come right, Orion.

All the best
Mojalefa.

Indeed we Are

Thank you all - Steven provided me with the solution and now it works!
What a wonderful community - this is amazing!

What would I do without you all!

With Gratitude - Orion

just a thought have you used it at facebook before? did it work? ifit did it must be your facebook setting if not check this site : https://appearin.helpscoutdocs.com/article/54-how-do-i-check-my-browser-permissions-for-my-camera-and-microphone

Good on you for trying something new Orion. I hope you get it sorted.

I am trying to figure out why Facebook has locked down their live feed option. A friend of mine just did it yesterday. I'm just waiting to hear back from her. I'm an IT Professional; I'll try my best to get you an answer.

Lance

Thanks Lance =)

There is a setting in the browser to give audio and video access automatically. It's under settings -- Advanced -- Content. See attached image. Try this setting.

Sounds good will go and have another look at it...
Didn't see it first time

Found it and it fixed it - thank you Steven much appreciated =)

No problem. It is a bit hidden.

I have no idea I'm sorry, but then I don't use facebook, very much for my promotions

Hi everyone,

Just found out that several of my links on one of my post show up as strikethroughs! ??

Does anyone know why this is? and how I

I had this issue as well. Found out it was a broken link. I got the Broken Link Checker plugin, and it'll let you know when something goes wrong. It's worked great so far.
Hope this helps,
Suzanne

I am not real sure but when my did this I reapplied the links and it fixed the problem.

I believe its a WA thing Orion. When I do spellcheck in the posting editor.. corrections appear in strike through mode!

Highlight the links that you have the strikethrough, check your toolbar in the editor in your back office, make sure your strikethrough is off.

I had the same problem, Orion. I couldn't figure it out. The links were not broken or even showing up in Broken Link Checker and not all of my links had strikethroughs. I checked my theme and there's nothing there about strikethroughs. I finally sent the URL t my page and a screenshot to Support and they had the problem fixed withing minutes.

I've done this twice and I still do not know why it happens, but each time Support fixes it right away.

Thanks Anita, seems that this is what I will need to do, cause I've checked everything too and nothing on my end that I can find.
Will go to site support - much appreciated =)
Orion

You're welcome!

Make sure that the particular theme for your website doesn’t have it to where any links you lost automatically are strikethrough. Just a suggestion. :) Are your links actually working and they just appear that way or when you click on them do they not work?

Ash

I am with Steven, Gordo and Loes, and the broken links, there is an issue within your link somewhere.

They are broken links

If your using a broken link checker this means the link is (or may be) broken.

Thanks - will check that too.

Did you make them with pretty links? Then you've spaces between the words

No I did not make them with pretty link...but will check the spaces =) thanks

Hi everyone,

Quick question - is posting 2-3 posts a day to my site OK?

Will it harm my site?

Or will it be good for it?

Looking forward to your answer

No problem as longs as you can keep it up. The search engines look for consistency so posting 2/3 posts in one day then nothing for 3/4 days may be seen as inconsistency. If I had your stamina to be able to post 2/3 times a day I would be inclined to spread them out over 2/3 days by scheduling them to publish day after day, that way I would build up a "Stock" as it were and if I hit a brick wall at least I would have a buffer of however many days to fall back on. Just my take on it.

The more you post the more Google and the users will love you! Your website should be your passion. It is your business and your help desk into the world. In your specialty.

I would just make sure that your post are not just done for volume. But they are quality, useful and they fit into your site vision. The more keywords , the more authentic, the more useful the better your site will rank.

Even your short post will rank higher because Google trust your quality imput. So volume is great! The more post on a site the better!

Time is the other issue. If you post 100 post in 20 years. Not Good. If you post 20 post in one month. Great!

In my opinion. If we pick a niche that is right for us. We should have enough content to push out about 20 to 30 quality post a month.

They won't always be 1000 words or so. Some will be 300 to 500 words or less. But yet they add value. Have fun!

I appreciate you positive optimistic approach mixed in with some passion! Thanks for the inspiration.
Bobby O.

Why post so many in a day? There are limitations to how many URL's you can submit in a month on Bing, may be the same for Google webmasters too.

OK, so you are posting 3 a day but then you decide to drop to 1 every couple of days?

How is Google going to look at this?

Mick

WOW, that tires me out just thinking of writing that many post in one day.

I do not see a problem in this, but as long as you can make the posts quality over quantity, more power to you.

One word of caution, Kyle recommends in his training that you only post one time a day on Google + or they might see it as spamming.

I'm interested in what everyone else has to say about this.

I agree with the others.

I've seen several successful websites (including non-WAs) that post more than once, every day.

Good, you can do it.

For a new website, you may want to post as frequent as possible to get exposure to the Search Engines. Once the website has established with decent traffic, posting a new article is a matter of site maintenance.

My opinion.

:)
Joe

Yes.... The more the merrier. Some very successful bloggers here post 3-4 times per day........EVERYDAY!!

You can post as many as you would like google will like it as well.

Most certainly.. one lady I follow posts about 4 or 5 posts a day..

I am interested in installing a "subscribers" plugin and I see there are many options - each one looking better than the other - can anyone suggest on a recommended plugin?

Hello Orion!
Great question. Need to install a subscriber plugin too.

Your new FB-friend!
;-)

Hi Pernilla - yes now I am connecting the dots...;-)

This was one of things I was thinking about as well thank you for asking I am going to book mark this so I can get it done. Thank you

The one that I am using came with Wordpress and it seems to be working just fine. I have not yet tried to branch out, but am considering it once I get 2 website underway. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Xav.

Email Subscribers and Newsletters - it's free and automatically sends out new posts I don't have to do anything

Downloaded it and set it up - yep really easy and all done
thank you =)

glad to help. it's one of those things you can do and forget. yea - not enough of those

I’m following this!

Also check out "email Subscribers & Newsletters". It was recommended by an WA member. I am checking it now so I don't have anything to report yet.

It add subscription forms on website, send HTML newsletters, & automatically notify subscribers about new blog posts once it is published.

Thanks for asking the question. It's good to know what else is out there that is working for people.

Hope you help with this.

I have been using Mad Mimi, a free tool, for a couple of years. I learned about it from here in WA. Here's a training that might be worth a look:

I know about MadMimi - but that is an autoresponder and mailing list subscribing.
What I am looking for is a plugin to place on my sidebar that people can opt-in to subscribe to my blog.
I am not trying to build a mailing list - yet...that's in my plans.

Onen I certainly recommend is https://sumo.com free and very effective

Isn't Sumo a popup plugin?
I am looking for website subscribers - just to get them to get my posts in their inbox when I publish new ones.

It does a multitude off functions https://sumo.com/stories have a peek anther weblog ;)

Cool thanks =)

I have downloaded a free plugin called Poptin www.poptin.com

They have a couple of nice templates without being too flashy but it looks professional and you can track visitors.

Thanks Brad will look it up =)
