Website Up and Running

So, after a bit of an unplanned break, I'm continuing my way through the advanced training. I'm proud to say that I've created my website and that I have even created a post based on one of the keywords I found in Jaxxy. Here's hoping that this is just the beginning of great things to come.

Please let me know what you think of my website and how you think it can improve at this point!

Hi Sam - well done for getting your site off the ground.

A couple of things you may want to think about:

1. Break articles into smaller chunks. eg Why are writing skills important. All your paragraphs could be split in to - which would make it easier for people to skim read. People are always in a hurry so you want the information to be as accessible as possible.

2. Be careful of using "I" too much. It's great to talk about your own experience but you need to bear in mind that when most visitors come to your site they want to know what's in it for them - they don't care about you. That means you have to strike a balance between using the word "I" and the word "you". (Avoid using "we" too much - it's too distant). I think you're in danger of not getting the balance quite right - so it's something to bear in mind.

Hope that's clear. Good luck. It will be interesting to see how you're site develops. :) Beverley

Thanks, Beverley! I'll take another look at what's there and see how I can improve what's there. Much appreciated!

I do see what you mean. I made some adjustments to the post in question. Thanks again!
