For Starters
Well this is groovy..
I hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. My minor was in Mathematics. I'm planning on beginning studies at a Seminary in the Fall for an advanced Theology degree, and I'm going to be a graduate assistant in the English department. I love the varied opportunities that God has given me for education and experience in so many areas.
My tastes in geography are as varied as my tastes in academic pursuits. I was born in a flyover state, and I'd love to just keep passing through. I would ultimately like to have a ministry that involves traveling around the US and providing short-term help in local churches and other non-profit Christian organizations. A lifestyle like this would require a source of income that would allow me to work from home or a hotel room or a travel trailer. When I found Wealthy Affiliate, the ideas it explained sounded perfect for what I may need in the future. Like I said:: groovy.
I have some experience in Web technologies, so combining that knowledge with the information here at WA should give me a good start in the world of online marketing. But I know that there's no quick and easy way to make a living, and I'm certain I'll have as many mistakes as I have successes. So any advice that those of you more seasoned members can offer as I stretch my wings in this new realm would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there!, First of all, you need to prioritize. Make a list of the things you want to do (which I think you already have one).
Then in this list, put them in the right order like. Which one of these things that I want to accomplish can be done first?. Go from the simpler to the extensive. Eventually, Each of those will help you get the next one.
It doesn't matter how different are the things you want to do. You have to find a connection. WA is per se a great start in online marketing.
Make a list of your personal skills. And by now only use the ones that are actually going to be useful in this first "A" step. Get involved, understand it, analize it. Once you get it and you start to get comfortable, take another step, bring some more of your skills that can be Useful for this new "B" factor.
Yes, there are no shortcuts and it requires determination and hard work. You need a good base, so by now focus on that. Find the connections within your abilities, the simpler you start, the better. Focus on one thing and try not to be too broad.

Thanks so much! I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Reading your comment made me think of a large strategy video game. Every level brings with it a specific challenge and I must use a specific skill set to meet it. The process not only moves me to the next level, but it improves and hones my skills. The only way to the boss at the end is by taking each level as it comes, using the skills I need step by step. I like this analogy. The only difference is that I define my own levels and determine their order myself.
