I am in need of creating a CNAME for one of my sites that is hosted at WA. Is this possible and if so, how? Thanks.
It is a mystery why there are so many questions on WA and so few answers. Ate least I have not found them.
I have the same problem and want to build my list on GetResponse using my WA Hosted Websites and haven't yet figured it out. Can anyone shed some light on this after 6 years of posting?
Hi Salniter, how did you go around it, I need help in the same question as I created a landing page with Get Response
??? How do you say you have a work around and then say nothing about what you did... You would have been better off not responding

I'm trying to set it up so that someone can download a document and it's giving me fits. I have a capture page to get their email, but after that I'm stumped. Can anyone help
It's hard to explain on these little boxes. But short answer you upload files to your host, get the link and place it in your autoresponder section that sends people the confirmation page. It's usually in the advanced tab in the responders. I see there is a training might be easier if you look there. There are other ways but that is the simplest.
Some training for you

Hi Salniter I was about to send you the same suggested solution as Barry has done . I have never felt the need to use these plugins personally, and just post the documents via the Add Media Button available when creating a new post in WordPress (Ms Word Docs) I will be using the plugins later and I assume they will give one more control and added functionality........... Hope this helps! Arthur

Hi, Barry...thanks. I've downloaded the cm-download manager and now I have one more thing to figure out how to use! Can't wait to learn to drive (remember those days?) so that it comes naturally!
Copy and paste should be easy. I'm not sure what you attempting but the other person should have his programs set up so they can do downloads.
Actually I have this gorgeous landing page which sends them to a "give me your email" page and the download goes from there. It's stupid complicated, but I think it's actually finally working! Thanks for the input, Nick!

I've got a site which collects data (more than email) and right now, it just comes to me via email. How do I set it up so it goes into a database that I can access? Is there a
If there is a plug in for it, just come up with couple of names and search it in word press, like data collector google or something. There's thousands of plug ins available so I'm sure you will find something there.
Thanks, I seem to have found Gravity Forms...which will collect all the data and allow me to export it, and it allows me to connect directly with Mailchimp, so I can send them autoresponders. So far it looks like what I need. Thanks for everybody's help!
You probably need to get help from professionals. A computer program needs to be build to automate the process. The language is called SQL if you want to learn it yourself.
Your data base is on your server, I can access mine through C panel but I don't think that is available on WA
The data base that is used most is called MYSQL I don't know if that is the sort of thing you need but every website has a data base I have a blog on data bases if it will help

The site in question is not on WA and I do have access through Cpanel (Godaddy). I'll look at your blog and go to the next step. Thanks.

Is it fair game to add someone who has left a message on your blog to your email list? And is there a way to do it automatically?
Hey Ansley,
What you could do is respond to them within the comments and let them know of all the exciting things you are planning on your website and how it can help them. Then give them a link to a page that has an autoresponder optin and invite them to sign up so they can be notified when the updates occur.
As for automatically doing this, I think you will be much better served adding a personal touch and responding to each individually. Remember, you want people on your list to warm up to you as being an authority. When that happens, they will trust you and will be much more willing to buy from you.
Of course, I am a big proponent of nurturing your list, meaning you don't want to constantly bombard them will sales pitches. You want to always think value first sales second.
Best Regards,
Jim
Oh, thank you! This is just what I was looking for...personal replies and another page...thanks!
No don't is my vote....I never respond to anyone who just sends me emails after a comment I have left. Goes straight into the junk and frankly puts me off them generally
I do not think you can use any ones email address unless the have opted it to be used this way
I get emails everyday from companies and people that I don't know and I have never given anyone or any company permission
I use plug in WP Email Capture. Yes you can use the emails. This is one of the reasons to ask for comments is to get a email listing.
Oh, I didn't know!! Well, I shan't be offering constructive criticism again! Thanks for the heads up
Ha ha talk about hot leads going cold! I want a list too! I hope you realise I'm jovial, not sarcastic!
I'm pretty sure that they need to know that they are opting in to a list.
It's tempting but I wouldn't do it.

I've written something that I'm not sure if I should post as a blog post on my website, submit to street articles, or post on my blog here at WA. I feel like my site needs co
I'd have said site first, tweak it to here if you wanted. I have written the same material for print copy several times, changed a little each time. As long as the publications were not competing I never had a problem. Not the case now, darn those computer bots, that said a quick re write and out to a new market is the way to go.
I guess I am late to the chat and long winded then as both below are in my gang thinking wise..:)
PS HAVE A GOOD DAY ANSLEY:)
Street Articles are no longer encouraged by WA. Your website first, if it applies to your niche, post at WA second and if desperate to publish elsewhere, try Reddit. None of these can be the same article or it will be considered duplicate content.
Whilst we are encouraged to write blogs elsewhere it is a priority to add more content to our website, where ever you write you can link back to your site
I agree with kbyer, just do a blog a little something about the subject and then link out to it as a help to others. Now, do not do a self promoting thing though.
Coach Ed
It's simple. Post your content on your own site if it is within your niche. You are trying to build a website/blog right? You are trying to build an Asset/Business right? If you wrote a book would you go and give all your writings to someone else to publish in there book and make money from your writings? Man I hope you answer no to that, lol.
If you have something you are just dying to blog about and it does not fit into your niche, then blog it here.
KISS ;)
You could post to your site. Then create and update blog here at the WA with your like for us to view and remark on. This would drive some traffic, get comments on your site, and we get to see your site progress.
Just a thought.
I made a typo..............provide your website link for us to view. Early mornings......Need more Java!!
Site First, WA Blog Second, SA Third. That should be the priority that you use. SA has fallen off in importance lately and I would not even worry about that aspect as much anymore. Focus on your site.
Just don't do all three, or as you said in your question Ansley, you will just be creating duplicate content.
Thanks for adding that clarification Corey. You can put a post on your site and then write a blog to support it, but you don't want to duplicate the content.
Its your own content you can post it on all 3 places if you want.
Duplicating or copying is when you use someone els's content and you use it for your self
That is more plagiarism and duplicate content. Duplicate content is duplicate content. Period. Duplicating your own content is still duplication and Google doesn't like it one bit. DON'T post it to all three, Google will sting two of the three... but which two...
Is there any rule or idea about submitting to Street Articles first? I seem to recall somewhere in the dim distant past hearing that the article guys want it first. Any truth to that?
What matters is what YOU want. I can see no advantage in posting anything to Streets Articles these days. Maybe back in the day, but not now. It's just not how things work now.
Personally if you can post it to your own site, as in it fits into your niche, then I would post it to your own site. You will advantage the most from propping up your own site as opposed to propping up others sites.
If it doesn't fit into your niche and you really want to blog about it anyway, blog about it here. Maybe it will get you a referral if someone finds it on Google and signs up to WA after reading it. I would not bother with Street Articles, it is not going to return you any value posting it there.
