Hi guys. So I've been approved for Google Adsense for quite some time but I cannot get any ads to appear on my site. I've tried using the text widget in my sidebar and copy and

I have adsense, but the ads don't show up when I open the site. Everyone else sees them when they go to my blog, in fact someone asked me about a particular store advertising on there last night. I didn't know they were there so it has to be through adsense.

You should see a white space. When you first put the ad up!

I am getting rid of google adsense and going to try amazon native ads, it can take up to 48hrs before you see the ads,, but you should see the white space

Try different boxes which they offer. One will work. I had the same issue. See also this:

Sal you need to talk with Adsense. They can be a little difficult at times. I have a Adsense account and I was told that if you don't have it set up right with them, you will have some problems.

Contact Google ads or Amazon ads, -- these are the most popular. Google is PPC, Amazon is affiliate marketing but only two among many.

I have the same dilemma. When I started, they worked sometimes. Now all I get is code or a blank spot. If you get an answer, I will be watching.

What is the best way to put ads on your site?

I always have the challenge of organizing around my work schedule. In general though, I aim to do some work on the site every day (which doesn't always happen). However, I am holding myself to a relatively strict approach of posting content every second day.

More than anything, getting content on your site regularly is an important step. It sounds like you need to look into a content posting schedule that you can realistically meet. If you try to post content too often (like daily), you may struggle to get the other parts of your site improved.

I work on emails first and then I start working on my site. I try to set a goal list that I need to get done for the day the day before and then I get going on it.

Daily goal setting. I like that a lot Theresa.

I try to check WA every morning. Work on emails and sometimes my consulting work. Then I try to work on my sites. come up with ideas and write.

I too try to check WA every day. Morning sounds preferred though

I find that I have to set a time limit on how much time I spend on WA, because it is very easy to get distracted on here, especially with the chat.

True. I feel you man.

I set a time table especially when I need to catch up, divide main tasks and the time between each set my alarm and leave the task to go on to the next, if I am having time away try and work on stuff to publish whilst I am away...

Wow I have never set time tables for myself. This sounds incredibly useful. Thanks Katie

I usually work on e-mails first and then work on my site.
Marilyn

Thanks!

I try to do every day something positive on my main website, add a link, create a banner, find great keywords, write on a post, one post usually cost me 2-3 days researching

That's cool. Doing daily edits on my site would help me feel I'm working on it more. Thanks!

Hi Sal, I used to be a person who put blinders on and hyper-focused until I had a task done then I moved onto something else. Once I got married and we had kids, I discovered that this way was impossible to do anymore.

My wife seemed to do many things at once and at first she looked like the pinball in a pinball machine; 90 MPH one direction til she bounced off something then 90 MPH in another direction. I have learned to embrace this over time.

I now make to do lists and keep track of multiple projects or tasks through notebooks and the to do lists. Sometimes I set an egg timer and work on something until the timer goes off and then I move onto something else on my list. I do not always get everything done, but this helps me to move ahead in many areas at once; ie, training, writing, website, development, keyword research, brainstorming. Brainstorming is very important to always do because you need to look to the future and be creative. I cannot count how many times I go for quiet time to brainstorm ideas and become creative only to find that a solution to something else that I have been working on pops into my mind. Best of luck to you. Dave.

Dave. What a great post. Thanks so much and I think I'm going to try the egg timer trick. I really like how you divided your day up perfectly.

Sal, I also seem to have days where I feel like I spin my wheels and make little forward progress. The trick is to keep moving forward.

Hi Sal, I don' have any set schedule when I work on my site. My schedule can be a little hectic at times. So I do post a reminder of what I need to have done that day and pray that I can get all done.

Right? I feel you.

I don't really have a schedule. This is wrong in all aspects of an online business. Guess that is why I don't make much money.
A schedule you set up is yours. Everybody does something different.
I do work on various stuff everyday, but probably not what I should be doing. Not much help am I?
Just find a schedule that works for you.
Jim

Thanks Jim.

So I have been trying to figure out a proper schedule of posting new articles on my site. I have read that once a week on the same day will increase your rank in google. I've

Unfortunately, I need to also set up a structure to post to my websites. More than once per week is supposed to be preferred but I will be happy to get to once per week then increase it.
Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback.

At the moment I publish 3 times a week, however, I may be dropping that to 2 times a week as I am now working.

3 times a week. Have you found this helps your rank in Google rather than posting on the same day every week?

nope... I used to post every single day, dropped it to a few times a week, have not seen any difference

I would go for one post per week.. you will not see instant results.. but if you perists afetr a few months hopfully you will see results.. also in the meantime while your waiting for this to kick in it might be worthile doing paid for advertising.. (this if your selling a products)

Thanks for the idea and I think I will definitely incorporate this into my blog.

I am so new here that I am not even posting yet. I do belong to many blogs the ones I like the most usually post daily and I look forward to that time just as I do with a friend, Isnt that what we are striving to do? For sure if an email announces a post I can check it.

Yea that definitely helps. Using an email surface can help posts get traffic. Thanks for the help.

I agree with Loes answer. My scheduling is chaotic and I have to go with at 2-3 a week and it is not on any time schedule for that week. So for me to be on a particular schedule it doesn't work. All though it does work for some people. It helps them to be more organized and it fits their personality. I found people that are in the arts have a hard time with a detailed schedule, especially if they have allot of tasks at hand.
Linda

I feel you. I compose music on such a random basis but I'm trying to make it more routine to pump out more content. Thanks for the input.

I think it should be qualitative than quantitave

True but google definitely checks your site periodically so I'm wondering if posting on any kind of time period would affect ranking.

Hi, I don't think so posting any time period would affect ranking

I try and get at least one a week and if I am going away or busy try and get it done so it can automatically publish when I am not around

Thanks for the input!

I am dreadful with my scheduling, I try to post as much as I can, given the time and inspiration I have, I post when I have my blog ready. about 2-4 a week with no special day. I know you are very right to post with a schedule:) But that's not ME, I have a very chaotic personality and it doesn't fit me at all, I live without regulations, where ever I can get away with that:)

Loes, this is called "doing the opposite" and you're the living proof that it works quite well...lol.

I suffer from schedule deficiency myself, so trying the opposite is my newest experiment.

As taught here. Be different, be you and do what you love the most! :)

Okay. I figure more posts than none is definitely worth it.

Most of the time I do just that:)
