This is a very awesome niche! The good thing about is that it nevr gets old nor retire. Go with it! There are so many successful people doing it. Congrats!

Hi Saleem!
I think it is a great idea to promote recipes. Perhaps you can narrow this down. Are they for every meal of the day? Are they including meat? Or are they vegan? Any particular ethnicity? I think it would be a good idea to separate your site into meal times and each navigation bar would say Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, etc.
This way a user could just click on what they want to see.
You can also talk about WHY you like the recipe. What makes it easy to make? Why did you choose to include it? Are there any substitute ingredients that people could use? Did you try it yourself? You can even have another nav bar that includes your own favorite choices.
I think that if you could talk a little bit about the recipes, that would make a big difference, and would serve to personalize your site a bit more.
Let me know when I could see it!
Thanks,
Amy

Thanks for the advice on the presentation/navigation ideas. Another thing that i was wondering is the idea of getting recipes online and using them on my Blog posts. The idea that I had was to be able to take the best easy recipes that I found ONLINE to place in one easily navigable place for users to find (alongside some nutritional facts included). Would I be running into some major issues here by using other people's recipes online (I'd be crediting them in the posts of course). This is where I feel I've ran into an obstacle in the road with my site.

I'm not entirely sure if I'm writing myself into a corner by having my site mostly built upon existing content online.

hi Saleem,
While I am not an intellectual property attorney, I would advise you to reach out to the recipe creator and ask them if they wouldn't mind if you used their recipe on your blog, explaining that you would give them a credit line and a link-back to their site. They may go for it. You may also try to google copyright-free recipes -- ? OR do some research about copyright of recipes on the internet. I imagine it would be the same as downloading photos off Google, which is not a good idea. Might be the same thing but I can't be sure. Let me know what you find out!

Thanks Amy, I'll look into it.
