Hi Wendy, I tried to find the video that Kenny mentioned but couldn't. This video should help :)
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/the-differences-between-posts-pages
One thing at a time here :)
First I noticed that your site title doesn't match your site domain name.
I just typed "Wendys natural products" into Google and your site is nowhere to be found. When I typed wendys essential oils, you have the #1 position. Just something to think about there.
And noone is going to know to type "wendys essential oils". They may type "essential oils". That is where Jaaxy come in. Search essential oils and see if it is a good key word. If not use a phrase that is a good key word.
That's true, but if someone wanted to revisit the site, they may type the wrong name in the search bar. I should have been more clear about that :)
Your pages should consist of about me, privacy policy, disclaimer, atleast 3 main topics about your site. Then everything else you write should be only post about each of your main topics. Navigation is your menu which should consist of your main pages only. Then you can add the post you write to there appropriate main topic as a drop down menu. About your static page you can go into settings > reading there you can change from static to recent post which will give you a blogroll.
On the activity dashboard input your question(any question) you will come up with an array of answers!
pages tend to go to the menu, posts tend to go to the blog roll
you can choose to have either a page as the first thing people see when they land on your site, or your blogroll as the first thing they land on
if it is your blog roll, then they will see your posts, and everytime you create a new post that front page changes
you select whether or not you want a static page in your Settings, click on Reading, then select what you want front page
keep going over the training vids, you see something new everytime ;)

I really need to fix my website and I don't know how so, Help!! What is a static page, why did my posts go to my homepage and why do I have all pages and no posts? Also, I chang
It's fairly straight forward to change Pages into Posts (or vice versa). I use two tabs in my browser, one with the original Page and one with the new Post. Then I copy and paste the title from one to the other then the body of the page using the Text tab (not the Visual). That should ensure that you get all relevant images as well as the text. It's important to delete the original Page when all is done (save the new Post as draft and check if it's OK) so that there is no clash in the URL. If WordPress give you the same URL with a number then just trash the original Page, empty the trash, then go back and fix the permalink on the new Post. ~Marion
Magistudios (Live Video Classes) has a great webinar on this called Everything Wordpress-Appearance of your site, by Jay.
Check it out.
Hi Patrick, thanks for the help. How do I find this webinar? I was watching someone's tutorial last night about pages and posts, etc. and I can't find it. Help!! Thanks
Wendy:)
Hi Wendy-Sure, no problem. on the left hand side of your screen, under the heading "Training", click on "Live Video Classes", and then scroll down until you find "All about WordPress", there are four of them- the one you want addresses the appearance of your site, i believe it says "Appearance and Content".
I would actually watch as many of these webinars as I could, they are amazing- you will pick up a lot really fast, and Jay Neill, the guy who does the webinars, isn´t just an online marketing expert, he is a true eminence in this field. Plus, he´s a pleasant fellow with a good sense of humor. Let me know how it goes....
Hi Patrick, thanks again for the help!! I am slowly but surely fixing the problem and trying to understand what I am doing:) I am bound and determined to learn. But as one person said, "It is about the journey, not the destination". I just need to remember this. Thank you again, Patrick and Merry Christmas:)
Wendy:)
Hi Shawn, thanks for the tutorial. I will look at it in a few. I have been making pages. Is that the wrong way to do it? I think it is because everything is squished together on the top.
OK, as far as having all pages, have you been making new posts or pages?
As for a static page, here is training on this:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/static-pages-and-blog-rolls
As for the admin
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-create-a-new-user-in-wordpress
You assign your post as well as your pages.. Your option are many including change your them. That best way to stay out of trouble is to stay on your Word Press home page and follow the instructions carefulness. It will prompt you to make content a post or a page and allow you to also write your draft. Hope this help some.
Well now I know I did something wrong because I made all pages. I don't know how to fix it all up. Where can I go to re-learn this? Thanks for the help.

What does it mean when it says your site is unhealthy and what can I do to fix it?
Check your low percentages and work on those categories, let us know which they are and we can help.
On your SITE MANAGER you will see your site, click on VIEW, it tells you why your site is POOR, GOOD, etc
If it is unhealthy could be a few things such as no new content for awhile, too many plugins I have one that is like that but that is my practice one and I do not publish from it
When you go into SiteRubix (light blue box) and to Site Manager, you should see your website listed and then at the far right there is a small tab that says "view." If you click that, it brings up all of your site health information.
Oh ok, but my site is not thru SiteRugbix, it is a domain I own and have hosted via WA. Is there a way to see my site health info via WA hosting?
If you are referring to the new Site Health, there are a few reasons that your site might be unhealthy. If it is a newer site and doesn't have much content on it, that is one big reason. The more content, the better. How often you publish new content is also another reason. By writing more, you will increase your site health.
Your site is seen as more trustworthy if you have comments on it as well. So, when you write a page or post, you should be asking this community for comments on your site. Make sure you reply to your comments, too.
If you do these things on a regular basis, you will see your Site Health start to get better and reach the "good" category.
Oh thank you so much, Michelle!!! I also have another question of you don't mind answering? I tried to make a couple of my pages into posts and I messed something up. This sounds kind of stupid, but what is the difference between a page and a post? I am still a bit confused about some things and I always try to go back and look through the lessons, however sometimes I can't find what I am looking for. Again, thank you for your help, much appreciated!!
Wendy:)
No problem, Wendy. A page is considered static, in that it shouldn't change very much, if at all. It is the structure of your website, basically. Posts, on the other hand, are changing all the time. It is where you blog and you will be writing posts on a regular basis. If that doesn't help, let me know. :)
When you click on the "View" icon to the right of the health rating, a list of items that make up the rating are displayed. Mostly, they relate to content quality, publishing frequency, comments, and engagement. Those items should give you an idea of the areas of your site that need work to improve its rating.
Thank you again, Bob for once more helping me!! Much appreciated. I am so blessed I have this community to help me:)
Wendy
They're not displayed on your site itself. The health rating and "View" icon are on the "Site Manager" page of Siterubix. That page lists all of your sites hosted at WA and indicates the rating for each of them.

I need some help!! Two of my pages are not showing up on my website and I don't know why and can't figure it out. Could someone please help me with this or point me in the right
Thank you, mobz!! I still have a long way to go, but I feel as if I might be getting the hang of it.
Wendy:)
Thanks for reaching out!! I need to figure out how to arrange the pages because I can't remember and the homepage I want to come first is not coming up first. Do you remember which lesson tells us how to do that? Your expertise would be appreciated!!
Wendy:)
Rosie, you are my hero!!! I did it and I now understand:) Thank you so much for all your help!!
Wendy:)
Thank you....but actually it should be THANK YOU WA FOR THIS EXCEPTIONAL TRAINING.....THANK YOU KYLE AND CARSON...that it is where so many answers are
Yes Rosie you have a very good point. Thank you Kyle and Carson for teaching Rosie so well:)
Wendy:)
each page shown in tabs opens okay...or do you have pages you wrote besides these? If so, check how you have your menu set up, did you include them?
i don't exactly know what you mean, Rosie:( They are not even showing up at the top of my site. I think I maybe should have written these pages as a post, but I'm so confused. The pages that are not showing up are very important to my site because they have recipes on them for using essential oils in health and recipes for using essential oils in cleaning. Can you explain what you mean by tabs opens ok? Thank you so much for your help, I really need it.
Wendy:)
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/wordpress-fast-start/adding-pages-in-the-menu
This is the training....perhaps this is why; pages do not automatically show as tabs....you have to update your menu....watch the video within the training for a better overview...hope this helps...
Yes this does help me, Rosie. I will watch this immediately. Thank you again so much!!
Wendy:)
Rosie is right. If you got in to your site dashboard, then clicked on pages, then click on the page you want to add your content to, add your content ( or the edit to that page) which ever you did, before leaving that page, always, always click the blue UPDATE button to the right of the page. Sound about what you forgot to do, click update?
We all have done it. No worries.

Thank you so much, Todd. I could have sworn I saw how to do this is one of the classes, but I can't find it now!! This will help immensely. Thanks again!!
Wendy:)
And if you are trying to embed a button or a video, get the code from the place hosting what you want to link to and embed it in you post using the html mode rather than the view mode.
In the edit of a post, highlight the item to link. Use the chain in edit bar to insert URL for destination.
