Happy Easter WA
Not everyone will be celebrating Easter today. In my past, when I was married, my exe made the plans of running to church at the butt crack of dawn. This was after the boys had a total of 5 -10 minutes of checking out the loads of candy left by that rascally rabbit, I don't mean Bugs.
The week before was spend shopping for "special" outfits for the boys the ended up being worn a total of 1 or 2 time. These outfits also could be worn for school photos or some other dressy gathering during the year. By the end of the years the boys outgrow the outfits and they ended up hanging in a closet.
As for the day of running it was at times tiresome, especially for my boys. They would have preferred to stay home and fill themselves with candy. After church was usually the annual town Easter Egg Hunt. This was fun, just watching the boys trip over each other just to add to the collection of candy at home.
Then day proceeded into a ham dinner that even the Cat in the Hat would be proud of. All of my exes family gathered around a table gossiping about the townies they just socialized with at the Easter Egg Hunt. The dinner ham glazed with raisin sauce, creamy green beans, sweet potatoes, a butter lamb center piece and more food than a Thanksgiving feast. Only thing miss was the after dinner football game and a nap in the recliner.
All this sounds like a good time? I could have done without the running around and the hypocritical gossip. Guess this is another reason she is my exe. The running around for every holiday with her family, while my family was only considered if the boys mentioned it.
This year for Easter we (Kelli, Sierra, and I) will be relaxing at home since the boys are with their mother. We will be heading out to brunch with her family. I did get my time with the boys over the last few days. We all will be having an Easter Feast this coming weekend with my family.

Ken I like this very much - I can tell you are really one of the honest people at WA and I try to be too. I have unfortunately not seen my family over the easter weekend, except briefly at church yesterday. But we are getting there. After just over 1 year of separation from my wife I think the proper visiting should be happening soon. So true brother. some court systems don't see what's in the best interest of the children. Massachusetts is one of the states that still believes in the maternal mother having more rights than the father. Everyone has their horror stories.
My advise to anyone going through an divorce. Do everything you can to keep the lawyers out of it. Try to be civil for the best interest of the children. The bottom line is that a majority of the time the kids suffer the most.
Remain positive, keep the children in your heart and not in the middle.
