I cannot get past the identity verification, I keep getting an error when I press the call me button.

I have had this problem as well Jasmine, I emailed Amazon and received the following from them:

If you continue to experience issues with receiving your phone call for the PIN Verification, please following the troubleshooting steps below, and write us back with the phone number, country code, and the 4 digit pin the system is providing you. There may be a technical issue on our end that is not allowing everything to go through properly.

Usually this will occur if your phone line is busy or congested. Also, some phone call screening services may block our call; if you have subscribed to a call screening or anonymous call blocking service through your telephone company, you may need to temporarily disable this feature to receive the PIN verification phone call. Please make sure you're adding a + symbol and including your country code if you're outside of the United States. Example: +1 206 266 2992

If you are using a dial-up service, make sure your connection to the internet is closed within one minute of setting up the phone call. Be sure you check the box marked "I need to disconnect from the Internet before I can receive a phone call" so the call will not be initiated immediately. Additionally, use of a mobile device for the verification process is not recommended. Using a desktop or laptop computer offers the best experience with this process.

It's also possible there could be a typo in the phone number as it was entered during the registration process. Log out of your Amazon.com account and log into https://affiliate-program.amazon.com to go back to the registration process and verify that the phone number entered is correct.

In any case, if you did not receive a call and would like to request another call, please return to the registration process to try again.

You may wish to perform an online search to verify you have entered the correct country codes and area codes so that the number you have entered can be reached from a US based call location.

If you continue to have problems with PIN verification after reviewing this information, please write back to us by clicking the link below. Please be sure to include as much information as possible (including your phone number with country code and PIN number) when writing back so that we can contact the appropriate department to resolve this issue.

Please visit the following link to provide the information we requested:

http://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/contact/

I hope this helps. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

We'd appreciate your feedback. Please use the links below to tell us about your experience today.

Best regards,
Manesa N. (Amazon)

I have been away and have not had a chance to follow up yet but thought I'd send along their response to you. Hope it helps. I really think it is something on their end.

Robin

As JasmineU mentioned, send them an email. It's been so long since I signed up I can't remember the process exactly, but their support can fix the problem I'm sure.

Hmmmm... I would email Amazon about that. I've never experienced this myself, but I would just email them. They're usually pretty good about getting back to you within 12 hours

Has anyone else had trouble joining amazon associates?

I am still getting an HTTP error when trying to upload pictures to my media file. The pictures are jpeg, the correct size and labeled correctly. What am I doing wrong? I am r

Fingers crossed :)

Thank you everyone for your advice. I think I have the problem solved. I just resized my pictures and now they upload ok. I have never had to do this before and I did try doing this already and it didn't work, but all seems to be OK now. I am so relieved and hope it keeps working for me.

Maybe you can follow this training to check it out.

I also had this problem, but was able to get around it by uploading my images via FTP.

This is what support told me. Just follow each step:

"Hello Ian,

You can upload the images through FTP and after uploading files in httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/folder using FileZilla, add a 'Add from Server' plugin that helps select and pull the files into Media Library.

Here is some training on using FTP. "

So you first have to watch the training and do everything he tells you to do, then upload the images through FTP in the correct folder. After that, you install the "Add from Server" plugin, follow their instructions, and select the files you want to add to the Media Library.

Hope this helps!

You didn't name them by any chance with a ' in the file?

No, I only use letters or numbers. Thanks for the reply, I have tried everything. It's very frustrating when a simple thing like inserting pictures in a post slows everything down. I can use Wikimedia pictures, etc. but I really want to use my own pictures.

Try to use a different browser, perhaps that will help you, and sometimes it is a conflict with an added plugin

I used to have this problem but now I don't, one thing you can do is contact support, they will help you to fix this :)

Thanks Hilali, I did contact support, no solution yet. What was your problem and how did you fix it?

I didn't do anything, I just uploaded pics without gettings errors messages, when I could not upload pics, I'd use picorator it would allow me to upload a pic and get the HTML code then paste it in text section of the post editor, its a thing I do when I want to continue working on my article without dealing with uploading problems.

When trying to upload pictures to my media file, I keep getting an error message - HTTP error. What am I doing wrong?

I occasionally have this issue. I usually just save the post close the window and revisit the post. Almost 100% of the time that solves the issue and I can upload the image.

No, still doesn't work, I have tried it almost every day. I can upload pictures from flickr no problem, it's just when I try to upload my own pictures from my hard drive that I have trouble. I have done it before but for some reason, now it doesn't work.

worked for me thank you very much :-)))

Well, it's a new day and I am still getting the HTTP error when trying to upload pictures to my media file?? Any thoughts anybody?

I thought you had resolved it, and then I saw that someone with a similar username was commenting on this thread. Google 'http error' and see what that comes back with and systematically try all the solutions that are offered. Usually it is a either a connection issue or a file name problem, other than that, without being there, there is not much any of us can do.

Not really, its actually a great idea given that fact that I had to use this same mobile phone that im using to write this to upload a pic. It worked flawlessly. You should try it...

LOL, well, I wish I had your carrier. Glad you got it resolved. Be aware that mobile in many countries doesn't work for this. I had no idea where you were located when I responded.

That's more than likely the problem. If the keeps up try it from a different platform like a mobile phone

Mobile is an even worse idea. If you can get a wired (LAN) connection, that is best.

There can be multiple reasons for that error. Most commonly, it refers to an image name that is not appropriate - i.e., check to make sure the image name doesn't contain anything but letters and numbers, or that the size of the image file is too large for the requirements of Wordpress. It can also be caused by attempting to load over a WiFi connection with an unstable connection to the Internet.

Thanks for the reply. The name and size ar ok. I'm giving up for now and will try again tomorrow. It could be the connection.
