Relentless Hunger

I just want to rant and vent dismay of myself for having so much fire and hunger in the beginning of my WA journey but unable to consistently sustain it.

Hungry? No, I'm not. I've got it all put together right now - a decent job, a small business on the side, nice dwelling, some savings, regular vacation and everything I need. The hardest thing is to worry about the future when "I'm Ok" right now.

The motivation to consistently work hard here at WA is slacking and I'm not very pleased for it. Perhaps writing this short blog could spark a little fire to wake up the relentless hunger I had initially. When I lost my job in September of 2011, there was a passionate desperation to propel me to do some great things that I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.

Igniting and keeping the relentless hunger within will be the motivating factor at this point in the journey.

Thank for sharing. My hunger comes and goes. Seems a fickle

thing, left me for about 13 months. then back.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I'm encouraged a lot of people here understand.
Take care.

Hi, Richard.
I find myself in a similar situation regarding that 'Hunger' to continue on a regular schedule.

But I know I have to do it. I think it has to do somewhat with the fact that the WA strategy does take some time to implement properly.

Never give up and just continue at a pace that works for you. It will serve you well later on.

Regards from Canada.

Paul.

Great point, Paul. Thanks so much.

Cheers, my friend.

Regards from afar.

Paul.

I know how you feel. A WA blog helps kick start me. Another way is by watching chat for a bit. It is kind of motivating to help others.

But yes, I do enjoy a good rant to kick start me.

Cheers!

Nate

That's good to know what gets you going. I might learn something from that.
Thank you.
Richard

I think we have the same "good" problem. Being successful earlier than most affords us the luxury of becoming complacent. I retired at 46 from the 9-5 and had my own S Corporation 2 years later with over 50 regular clients. I can charge $75.hr and only work jan-march, then take the rest of the year off. Been doing that for 12 years.
I do not need WA but the challenge of learning something completely new to me is just what I needed in my life. I look so forward to building an online presence in this world, especially if it allows me to help others. I try to enjoy my success, but not rest on it.
You will find the motivation to keep at WA. I have confidence in that.

Making a living, making a difference.

Mark

Hi Mark, it's encouraging to know that I'm not alone. Being in your status and ranked 200 here on WA is something to emulate.
Thank you,
Richard

Status quo affects many people. It affected me for some time, with the exception during times of unemployment, dissatisfaction from my job, or a superior who criticized my work.

These times we realize too late what we see happening. 1 1/2 years before being part of a huge layoff of management we all saw sales change, the company focus changing etc. Even before that I saw WA for example and signed up but did nothing.

Ten years before that in 1999 I saw the internet and people going online. I learned Front Page and started building some websites, but no one to mentor or ask questions of, or at least that was my excuse!

Excuses are what keeps us in the status quo.

Setting steady consistent goals and finding several fellow entrepreneurs to keep you accountable, perhaps will help give you the motivation and fire you need.
Wish you much success in finding the relentless hunger you wish for again.
Take care,
Bill

What a great reply Bill. Thanks so much for your very insightful commentary.

Mark

Thank you for the encouraging words, Bill. The last paragraph is the key, we just need to execute it. Otherwise, there'll be another excuse for not doing it.

Richard

I can identify with this but I keep plodding along.

Yes, I am with you on that too. I know, a little bit here and there with consistency will eventually get to the destination before you know it.

I am guessing that if you were making a lot of money from your efforts here your motivation would still be high. It is the long range nature of what WA focuses on that makes motivation harder to sustain.

Not making anything here yet. I have another business that's bringing in a decent income. The long range is focus is the one that's harder to focus on. The money now is awesome, but I'll get back to it, I know.
Thank you for responding.
