What A Week

Well it s Friday. For me, that means so much.

It is a day to slow down from work of all kind. A day to prepare. Yes prepare, for the Sabbath.

Yes I am a Sabbath keeper. A Seventh-day Adventist.

Sabbath for Me

So while I have done some work on WA today, it's not as much as I usually do. I am more into the spiritual things today and on every Friday. Today I prepare for the Sabbath.

That means I make sure that my clothes for church tomorrow is ready and my shoes clean and polished. I shave if I have to or feel like it. I am not a hairy man so that's not too much of a problem. My wife don't always agree with me on the shaving though.

Mentally, I listen to gospel music or the discussion of the Bible while I do the other preparations.

O, and if my wife is not at home, I do the cooking. She's a much better and faster cook than I so I leave that to her. We usually prepare enough and to share because we have potluck in church after the midday service.

So as the sun goes down this evening, I turn off WA and will not return to it until I get home tomorrow night.

The Sabbath is spent in worshiping God, studying and discussing the Scriptures, breaking for lunch of course and then later in the evening the youths are in charge of the worship service till the sun sets and ends another Sabbath.

The Week At WA

I began this week with a blog to complete and post. I got it done by Sunday night. After adding my pictures, I posted it. Then excitedly I moved on to the next lesson. I thought that I would continue speeding along as I had been doing.

That soon changed though. Getting into affiliate programs came up. After having been ignored or not yet responded to by about three of them, I finally got into two: ClickBank and ShareASale. I was contented and moved on.

Now to add affiliate links to my site. Baaam! Stuck again. O I did find a link but after finding out that the best way to promote it was to do a review, I paused. I read through the comments of some people who have purchased the product and many were not encouraging. So I have to continue searching.

I can only promote that with which I am comfortable.

By then, it was Thursday and on checking my email I realized that there were many that I had not even opened. So I took the time to do so.

It may sometimes appear as a time-wasting exercise but I can assure you that it is not. I learnt from many whose mails I opened and responded to. Even some questions I had been answered while scrolling through comments on other people's blogs.

So, another interesting and revealing work week is over for me. I enjoyed the ups and downs and the character that was built in me as I met the challenges.

Later

So as the sun goes down in the west, let me use one of the local ways to say bye for a while; "later people".

If there are any other Sabbath keepers here; happy Sabbath!!

Great post, Russell.
All the best,
Wendi

Thank you Wandi. All the best to you too.

You are most welcome. :)

Russell, what an amazing blog. I could almost hear your voice as I read it. I too, got stuck on applying to affiliate networks and even some affiliate programs, and let's face it, if you can't get the affiliate stuff going, all the rest of your work doesn't mean much. I found it very frustrating too.
I am so happy that you allowed the Sabbath and all the preparations for it and your wife making food for the potluck, and the Worship itself override the silly frustrations we insist on suffering over. Thank You Russell, you put things back into perspective for me today. God Bless.

Hi Sue,
Am glad we were able to connect and that without knowing it I was able to help put things back into perspective for you.
I had an absolutely Spiritfilled and blessed day in God's house with the Saints and here I am again, refreshed and ready to go.
Looking forward to what the new week holds but as usual, taking it one day at a time. Blessings to you too.
Russell

Yes, that's all we can do is take it one day at a time and try to enjoy every moment!
