Mixed feelings

Ooooooo, life!!!!

Sometimes you are certain of what you want to do and where you want to go. Other times, you're not sure and there the air of uncertainty.

Then there are the times when you have options that leave you with mixed feelings.

That's where I am now.

Unemployed

Those who have been following me know that I have been unemployed for more than three years. At first, it was tough and but for the grace of God, I would have become depressed two months into the experience.

He rescued me by giving me someone to cheer up and then showing me myself. From that day I have taken my unemployment in stride.

Sometimes it bothered me - like when I got married and I knew there were people asking "the question" behind my back and smiling in my face.

Most times, I accepted it as the will of God that He was working out in His own time. Let the "haters" hate. I love them in spite of it.

To Work or Not to Work

In the mean time, I applied for most of the jobs for which I was qualified. I attended at least 6 different interviews. At times, I had to sit an examination before I could be interviewed.

I was successful at each one, yet never called to the job. I concluded that others scored higher than I, or that they did not want older people in the field - I saw 23 year olds whose GPA was lower than mine, working in the same job.

O well, I continued to wait on the Lord and trust His divine purpose.

This morning, my wife expressed to me her hope that we could both find jobs that would see us being able to live life on our terms. She is unhappy with how things are going on her job even though she likes what she does - she's a nurse.

I responded that it I really did not want to be employed with anyone again, and that I hope that within the next six months the income from my website would be enough to take the burden off of her.

Her response was encouraging - that it did not matter to her if I brought in an income from online or working for someone.

So in my mind the issue of "to work or not to work" that is, become an employee, was settled. I was gonna have an online income.

Phone Call

I had missed a phone call yesterday from one of our government ministries with which I had done an interview. In my book, this was the worse interview that I had done.

I had just gone through the motions with this one.

While checking my emails, the phone rang, it was the same Ministry calling to tell me that I had been successful in the interview and that I could begin work on October 1st, if I was still interested.

By the way, I did that interview in June.

I hesitated but said yes.

It's the kind of work that I like to do.

At the same time, I know that it will affect my online time and how much I could put out here because it's a very demanding job.

It may also slow me down in achieving my goals.

God's Will

Even as I write, the Spirit is saying to me, "let God's will be done".

So yes, in spite of my mixed feelings - cause I don't know the future, I trust in the only one who holds and knows the future.

His will be done.

I will be praying for you that this new opportunity will still afford you some time to keep building your online business so that in the future you can have more streams of income ,happy for you and best wishes for your new job.
Florence.

Thank you very much Florence. Your prayers are welcome and I know that the Lord has heard and answered.

Great story! As long as you keep this attitude his will can and will work out. Can’t wait to hear your success story!

I know that by His grace I will have one - or many and I will share it with all you lovely people.

WOW Russell, so sorry to hear about your undeserved and misfortune. I know that is not any consolation, but I too have been in similar situations, although well qualified.

Your spiritual approach during all of this time, walking with the Lord in faith is truly enduring and exceptional, As humans we are hard wired to try to have and remain in full control on key matters and surely we try to do so to be able to provide for our families.

It is hard to let go of the wheel of a self driving car...

While no one knows what the future brings, we can be certain that the Lord sees and hears us.

"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?" Luke 11:11

Hope that the ministry position works for you and if not the Lord will once again guide you.

Thanks for the wonderful Christian endurance and sharing it with us here.

Blessings!

Thank you for your words of encouragement. God be praised.

Congratulations with the job Russell, wish you all the best. Since you have a few weeks before you begin I would write as many articles as you can, but save them so that once you start working and you won't have a lot of time you could post one or two of them a week.

This will keep you ahead of the game and you won't stress out as much trying to catch up with writing new content. Just an idea my friend.

Excellent idea too. I didn't think of that. Guess I got to get my fingers more active. Thank you, thank you.

You're welcome Russell.

Tough decision to make, but if God wills for you to be out there too then He must have something better in plan for you in the future. The work could be helpful with your website as well. Both ways, He is with you always.

I like how you state that. I will remember it when the experience becomes challenging.

Those times you have to soldier through!

Definitely have to. I guess I will just have to find a way to readjust.

So powerful Russell. Thank you.

You're welcome.

All the best to you Russell

Thank you my brother.

The benefit of WA is that it's always here..you can devote as much time as you can afford to develop your website. It's hard to turn down a paying job especially if you like the work. Best to you in your new job and in your online business. We can do it ALL!
Debbie
