It Didn't Go As Planned

Tuesday! I had great plans, I knew all the things that I wanted to accomplish today, but it didn't go according to plan.

I had it all set out, up to the time it would take for me to complete each task even though I didn't have total control over some of them - like going to the bank. What I averaged would take me 30 minutes lasted a little less than 60.

Had to make slight changes but I was still on schedule - if I could get the other tasks completed faster than estimated.

I was getting there, and then I got a call.

Strange Voice

At first I couldn't identify the voice. It sounded strained and scratchy. It was only when she said bbaabbeeee, that I realized it was my wife.

She had gone to work not feeling well - motivation for me to succeed here, why should someone be feeling ill and have to go to work?

It got worse on the job until her supervisor decided that she had to go home. She called me to come get her. I still had a very important task to do.

We agreed that I would complete that and then go get her. I began to hurry now.

Then she called again. Her sister was gonna pick her up. I could slow down.

Reschedule

I completed two more tasks. I had four more to go but I had no zeal for it anymore. I still tried to press on but after looking at another long line, I decided to postpone everything else for tomorrow and get home.

She was wrapped up in bed with a serious migraine. At least the persistent cough that she left home with had subsided.

So I cooked, gave her a small meal - twas all she could hold down and then, after having my own, went and lie down beside her.

I fell asleep but when I woke up she was feeling a little better.

You'd guess by now that until a few minutes ago, I hadn't touched the computer all day.

O well, sometimes you have no control over . In times like those, you make the best of what you can control.

Tomorrow is another day!

"The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men" Russell, but I would say you made the best of it and made your wife feel loved and cared for. I would say that is the best and most important task you accomplished this day!

I often feel the exact same way about the tasks at the end of the lessons here at WA! What I plan to check-off in one day sometimes turns into three! Keep on keeping on!

Thank you Sue.

Awesome share Russell.
Nothing like being cared for by some who loves you. I'm sure your wife was so grateful.
Well done to you and yes...tomorrow is another day :)

Di :)

Yes Di, she was. She is up and about now. Went to work this morning feeling much better.

I don't know about you, but It rarely goes as planned for me. Throughout my adult life, life has always thrown me curve balls. On even the clearest day, life has put crinks in my path. You know what I've discovered about this pattern though; it always works out in my favor in the long run! I don't know if Life is shy or too withdrawn to just give you what it's got to give you outright. But this I can assure you, better days are coming to you and your family, RusselO1.

One thing keeps me going through those tough and altered days, bro. That God is in charge, He knows what's best for me and since He loves me, He will always do what's best for me. As long as I remember this, no matter what happens, I am good.

I can relate to your blog as I have had a very stressful day too, trying to find a plumber to sort out a few issues in our home. It all takes our time and energy as well. Hope you can "pick up the pieces" so to speak and start again tomorrow. Hope your wife makes a full recovery too.

She's doing much mush better Alan. In fact, right now she's preparing for work tomorrow.

Yep- I just posted about the exact same thing last last night. Life happens! Just keep at it. We will get there.

Glad your wife is feeling a little better.

Yes, life does like to serve those curve balls from time to time. Unfortunately, it doesn't always give us a heads up when they are being thrown, so we often get smacked right on the side of our heads!

I do hope your wife is feeling much better today, Russell. But you bring up a great point: If we're earning enough income, we can take days off without fear of repercussions. Better yet, we can fire our boss!

May your day be a productive and safe one, Russell.

She is a lot better thanks. Up and about, can't sit down for long. But she took the day off. So hopefully all will be well for her to resume work tomorrow.

Thank you and may your day be productive and happy too.

Life is about managing priorities. You work this business for yourself and your family. Family seems to hae a way of reorganizing your priorities.

As usual life got in the way of good intentions

Derek

Thanks for sharing.

I guess you could say life got in the way.
