Did the title picture of this blog post fool you? The topic of this blog post is not about them, but play a big part of becoming successful as well as being a simple but good recipe for producing an article. That is why we are here, isn´t it? Learning how to do affiliate marketing through blogging. So without further ado;

What is Your Definition of Success?

On a Tuesday early afternoon after a hectic and challenging previous week and weekend, it is good to reflect on where the focus should be... at least in my mind.

Success is not an overnight process.

Success takes time. It is not an overnight happening. Even if you get a famous person or two to shout out your name and brand, it will take time. No matter which short-term wins you get, they will not provide you with sustained success. Your sustained success needs diligent and continuous work.

Seeing new members of WA rush through the OEC training and Bootcamp training in a few days, and are baffled when they are not immediately earning money or getting traffic from their website is saddening.

Look to Cassi and Partha on how to implement what we learn from WA. It has taken them 1 year or more to see the numbers they see at present time.

Success is gradual.

Build your success with small steps, real needle movers, at a time, and in line with what Wealthy Affiliate teaches us through the training. Take the experience shared by other WA members and apply it to your own methods.

Take small steps and they will compound into success over time. If the cake is big, eat it in small chunks.

Success is personal.

I am different from all of you. My success criteria are different from yours. Some of it is similar but different. Success might look like making dinner your whole family likes or all of your family thinks your selection of holiday destination is awesome.

My success with affiliate marketing is not monetary at this point in time, but my traffic numbers are. A such I am not successful at the moment. Why? It is because I haven't followed the training at WA to a T, or used a similar method as Partha.

But the successful part is that I am very well positioned for success, with all the right tools, network, and knowledge. The only thing I need is to take proper action and work on the needle movers to see the success I ultimately work towards.

Success is relative.

"Someone who spent time in the prison system building a 6 figure business is a MASSIVE WIN. Someone from the Ivy League building a 7 figure business is a MASSIVE WIN." - Rachel Pedersen.

Read the quote, and then read it once again. What does it tell you? It is the same as what I wrote in a previous paragraph. My success is not the same as yours, it is relative.

One of my massive WINS in recent years is winning the bronze medal in the national championship in team kata in my country at the age of 53 years of age.

A couple of months afterward I managed to fight my way into the bronze medal final in the European championship in my style of karate.

I am a different person than you, and I am building my own success according to my terms, not others. I am not comparing myself to others, even if I am guilty of doing it at times.

You have your own terms for success and different definitions of what your success looks like or will look like.

Success is a moving target.

Success is a living entity for each of us. It changes as we grow and get older and more experienced. Depending on which phase in life you are in, your success looks different and is defined differently by you. It is important to adjust accordingly. Some of your success measurements will stay more or less the same, while others will change significantly

Final Thoughts

These 4 essential factors of understanding what success is, will help you to reach the success you seek. Money is no success factor for me at the moment. it is just a measurement value of my progress, and a tool to reach my ultimate goals and nothing more. Money is one of the data points at a specific point in time, just like your traffic numbers. They show you how your progress is, and if adjustments are needed in the way you are building your "Castle".

So, what are you waiting for? Get into the training and put it to good use, diligently every day!

I agree, Roy, that success looks different for everyone.

But when I read the quote above (twice) I saw something different than you. I saw that money is the deciding factor of a massive win (or success). Regardless of your past or present circumstances, as long as you are making money, then it's redeemed.

And this I don't agree with. For those who think the only measurement of success is money, then I refer them to your article. Success can mean so many different things to people.

And lots of people who are making massive money may not be successful in other areas of life. Money is not the deciding factor. In fact, the love of money is the opposite, in my opinion.

But working hard is a blessing as well as having what you need for the day. For me, having a good attitude, being authentic, having integrity, and knowing the truth are all signs of being successful.

Great post, Roy!

Thanks for the reminder that we are running different races.
Often, in the moment, I become discouraged about my progress compared to others. We are so fortunate to have different goals and dreams. Sami

So true, Sami. I do the comparison thing too, before I manage to catch myself in the act. I am getting better at just acknowledge that I do, and then push the habit away.

Waking up in the morning is a success for me Roy.

Everything else I manage to accomplish throughout the day is a bonus at the moment!

Awesome Nick! It is a part of my morning routine, being grateful for a new morning and a new day 😃💪.

Roy

I absolutely agree with you there Roy!

Brilliant Roy, so easy to visualise and came just at the right time for me as I tweak my business slightly. Really helpful.
Thanks buddy.
Bux

My pleasure! I can relate to what you say, Bux. I am there at the moment too. Difficult times currently.
