Facebook and Attraction Marketing

Professor TikTok (named by Hugh šŸ˜„) takes a look at Facebook and attraction marketing. Having put my TikTok engagement on pause for a period, I have focused on utilizing Facebook in my affiliate marketing activities.

A disclaimer before I continue, I have not checked what training and classes exist here at WA before writing this post. It is solely based on my own experience as I started to explore Facebook as a tool in my affiliate marketing business. As such all the opinions expressed in this post is mine except where clearly stated that it is taken from other sources.

I know that there are strong emotions and feelings about Facebook and their integrity and ethics. I am not taking any sides in that discussion. This post is solely about the potency of Facebook in your affiliate marketing activities and nothing else

Since I started focusing on Facebook, I have seen a lot of self-proclaimed experts in online marketing and social media claiming that Facebook is dead. There is only one thing to say about that:

They are wrong, very wrong!

According to Hubspot, Facebook has 1.5 Billion Daily Active Users, the average user spends 60 minutes per day on Facebook, but only 48% of marketers think their Facebook activities are effective.

To put these numbers in a bit more perspective, :

  • Thatā€™s nearly 5X the population of the United States, 20% of the world population ā€¦ and the numbers is still climbing!
  • Considering the average person sleeps eight hours a day, that means about 7% of our waking hours is spent with our eyes glued to the social network.
  • The 52% of marketers that think Facebook is a waste of time is missing out on a great source of organic traffic.
  • You have an incredible opportunity to tap into this free resource of organic traffic

Do you think Facebook is dying looking at those numbers? Not likely.

If I were to start my form scratch again in online marketing, I would start with Facebook as my first social media channel. I started instead with Pinterest and Instagram, not really knowing what I did, got q fairly quick rise in impression and followers. But I didn't get any engagement going on those platforms.

After starting focusing almost solely on Facebook about 1 1/2 months ago, I got the engagement going immediately.

To highlight the importance of Facebook in your portfolio let's hear what Gary Vanderchcuck (Gary Vee) has to say about Facebook. This is also taken from Hubspot, but underline the impact of being present on Facebook as an online marketer:

"In an interview, HubSpot's Founder and CEO Brian Halligan, posed the question, "Let's say you're getting started today in marketing and you're building a social media brand ā€” where are you spending your energy if you're that marketer?"

Vaynerchuk said, "... you can't be alive in the game without a Facebook [and an Instagram]. I genuinely believe that. I think it would be highly detrimental.""

If you donĀ“t know who Gary Vanderchuck is, I highly recommend that you look him up on the Internet and read up on him.

How to market on Facebook? You can run ads on Facebook, but it is not recommended if you donĀ“t have a huge budget to do it.

But there is another way, and Facebook is encouraging it as it makes people stay on Facebook rather than go elsewhere.

That way is being you, engage and attract people by being a real human person, and not "spam" your posts with links and offers.

By providing good content of value to people, just like Wealthy Affiliate teaches us, you will do good with Facebook.

That is what organic traffic and attraction marketing are about. Get your target audiences attention, continue the dialogue in Messenger, and build your list that way.

You build your list in Messenger and your email autoresponder at the same time. In this way, your list will consist of warm leads which are people that are interested in what you provide and are more prone to buy through your links, rather than a list of cold leads which a regular email list is often comprised of.

I hope this is some food for thought and ideas for your marketing endeavours.

Wishing you a terrific Sunday!

To our Success!

Roy - now also a Facebook apprentice.

That's very interesting information Roy. i have a facebook page and a f/b group relating to my niche and website. I have been putting up some affiliate links on both with the affiliate disclosures, but am careful not to overload. Can you please explain what you do through your messenger contacts? (apologies if this is a dumb question, I need some clarification). Thank you for sharing your post.

Basically I ask my contacts on Facebook if it's okay to add them to my friend's list in Messenger. But it is important not to do it randomly. It has to be from groups you are active in and related to your niche and topic.

In Messenger I group them into where I engage with them on Facebook. And then in messenger engage with them about almost anything share with them news about live training related to affiliate marketing if that is your niche.

Tell them about methods and how toĀ“s that you have discovered. And if they ask you how, you can drop a link in your response.

That is basically it. It is like an email autoresponder, but you have a direct link in the Messenger chat.

In relation to your FB page and group, as far as I have understood and been told, it is ok to have a link both in the profile description and in the bio description. FB has facilitated for it.

Roy

Thank you so much for your response and method. Note taken.

For me, I still prefer to do my marketing with Facebook, it is strong social media platform when it comes to marketing. Of course you can promote in any platform which you think is working for you.

I agree with you Praxides. Facebook has grown on me after I started to use it frequently.

Roy

Thanks Roy, great to know that. Blessings

Love your disclaimer, Roy :)
Facebook is the only social media that I have thoroughly engaged with since starting my training.

I realised the huge benefit in my engagement especially with the increase in traffic to my website

Lately, I've been focusing on other aspects of Facebook which will eventually make you a lot of money, once you get the hang of it.

The possibilities are absolutely endless. We need to tap into this market to reap the venefit it provides

Thanks, Simone šŸ¤“. I didnĀ“t care much for Facebook before I started to explore it as I wrote in my post. But thank s to Cassi, I got more aware of what Facebook had to offer.

Interesting to learn about your experience with Facebook. It validates my points in my post well.

We have so much to gain, Roy

Facebook, like it or lump it is still a force for the time. They are not a great citizen of the community but are for the time being the giant at top of the beanstalk. They do need to realize at some point though that MySpace used to be them before Facebook came along.

Likewise, Google is starting to see some of the YouTube videos nice ebbed away by sites like TikTok and even Facebook's own video products.

We need access to their users being the bloggers of the world. To their search mechanism to attract new followers regardless of liking the source or not, we need the solution.

Going into these places may seem counterproductive as they are time eaters but they are a place to take short engagements and turn them into longer-term relationships back on our sites away from the noise.

Good luck and happy hunting,

Andy

Thanks, Andy. The online marketing niche is a living thing that is not ravelling in one straight direction but is constantly adjusting in accordance to what is going on in the rest of the world.

We need to make sure that we are updated on the trends.
