So you started with the intention to become an affiliate marketer and crush it within the first few months, 6 months, 12 months. After 12 months, the feeling is that the whole thing is taking up all of your time, and killing family relations, friendship and are starting to strain your financial situation.

Maybe you are trying too much? And in the wake of it killing your progress?

8 Rules Of Life Which Will Benefit You Well

I came over this great article published in SUCCESS magazine and wanted to share the content of it with you.

All of these 8 tips are something you know from before but may have forgotten in the heat of the affiliate marketing fight and in the bustle of life in general. I think most will recognize themselves in that it is very easy to get sucked into the affiliate marketing universe, wanting to learn all at once, no matter what.

In the process, there are other more important areas in your life that after some time starts to suffer at an increasing rate as you dig deeper into what you have started.

Dinner at Home With Family

How often after you started your affiliate marketing journey, have you been late for dinner, or in your daytime work for that matter. How do you think the rest of your family is feeling about it?

Your family is the most important people in your life, and they should be treated as such. It is too late when you suddenly are alone.

Decide today to take care of your relationship and nurture it. Your parents, siblings, spouse and children are precious and invaluable. This single choice is one you will never regret.

Grow Personally

This is a piece of simple advice, but if you think about it, a lot of people never choose to grow by taking real action like actually exercising, saving more money, reading more books, getting up earlier, taking up new hobbies.

Speaking for myself I advise you to make a firm commitment today to become a person who is on a never-ending journey of personal growth and freedom. Put all your limiting beliefs behind you.

Always Treat Others Right

During life, we meet a lot of people both from the same culture and social environment as ourselves, and a lot of people outside of our known sphere. One thing is for sure, many of those we meet will treat us poorly.

But we have a powerful tool. We have the option to choose to treat them right, disregard of how they treat us. When they present us with a lie, do the opposite and tell the truth.

Play by the rules when they are cheating. By following this simple guide of treating everyone right, you will win in the long run no matter how often you get the short end of the stick.

Your conscience will be pure and put your mind to rest for a healthy and good life.

Break A Bad Habit

We have acquired bad habits, all of us. If you take time to reflect on your own behaviour, you will notice that you have several of them.

Do the effort to get rid of them, one at a time, and start with the biggest one first. Confront it and ask for help to find it if you can´t. Put all your energy into breaking the habit.

When the biggest one is gone, start with the next one and keep going.

You have the power to choose to better your life and kill off habits that are not beneficial to yourself or those around you

Be Smart at How You Work

Are you feeling that you are caught up in work and have no time to spare for the things that matter? How much of your time are you wasting away by being ineffective in what you do, both at work and at home.

What makes you do longer hours at work? What diverts your life off track and into a mess?

Identify the factors and the habits that produce these results and remove them by planning and sticking to the plan. Do your tasks within the allotted time and nothing else.

One place to start is to turn off the mobile phone/or place it somewhere you haven´t got it easily accessible.

Getting your work done by loyally working during the allotted time you have, will free up your life quite significantly.

Your Work As a Way To Help Others

Shift your mindset away from earning money. Put your heart into helping others, and by default, the money will come. Your time should be spent helping others to grow and prosper. As a consequence, your finances will start growing with it.

It is easy to forget that it is your actions that produce your results, also the financial ones, not money in itself.

Balance Your Spirituality, Emotional Wellbeing and Also Your Physical Fitness

How are you treating your spirituality, emotions and physical fitness? Making sure that these three factors are in balance and nurturing them will put you in a position to reap benefits in all areas of your life.

If any of these are out of balance, your progress will be impacted in one way or another. I speak of experience when saying this. You will not notice it yourself, but your results and those around you will notice.

Always Sow More Than You Reap

Too many people in the world are just taking without giving. It seems that all focus is on give it to me now!

Our lives will be better if we focus on becoming givers instead. Give away your time, give away your money no matter how strange it sounds and also give away your love.

Being abundant and giving will help direct your life in the direction of where your life was meant to go. As such, your life is determined by the choices you make every day.

Your choices accumulate, adding up to your ultimate destiny.

Good morning Roy,

I hope you're doing well. Thank you for your blog post, I guess that all of us can relate to many of your points!

I'll keep this short. I think it's very important that we balance family time with work and definitely work smartly. One of the best ways I have found to work smartly is to literally get to bed on time, have quality sleep and start early in the morning. There are no disturbances early in the morning!

Helping others is definitely a good thing, I find it amazing what happens when we help others. Not only do we feel good but we are actually helping someone who may be struggling.

Tithing is a great thing to do. When the Covid nonsense came along, I wondered how it would affect my off-line business. I immediately upped my tithing in faith and saw absolutely amazing results, I was really busy! Giving works!

Have a great day.

Roy

Thank you, Roy for this great addition to the post and insight in what you have adjusted to the times we are living in.

Roy

Thank you, Roy, it's always a pleasure to read your posts!

Have a great day.

Very well expressed. If people knew how valuable families are they would work hard to always prioritize family. If everyone will treat everyone right, the world would not be in such a mess.
True most people take and don't give back anything, people feel entitled and never say thank you!

Thank you, Senanelo. Your comment is a good elaboration of the article. Appreciate highly your engagement :-)

Excellent, Roy!
I have never been one to lay out a schedule, and I have no regrets about it. However you just confirmed what I have been thinking a lot, and that is that I need to start alotting times for work stuff and other things to make sure I'm not trying to do too much of one thing and neglecting something else. It is very much against the norm for me, but I know it is essential, more and more.
It is not hard to break habits or form new ones, once you truly resolve within yourself to do it.
This is a valuable post, and thank you!

My pleasure, Craig. Base on my own experience, the best way to follow up on the change of habits is to do it one step at a time, but be diligent with it.

Roy

Hi Roy,
This is a great post. It all comes down to personal discipline and balance.

Unfortunately we don't all have this and that can mean the difference between success or failure. Failure not necessarily in business but our personal life too.

We can't exchange one for the other Roy or we would have failed anyway.

I think anybody can take a posture of discipline, once they see the importance of it. It is like courage. It is not something some people have more of than others. It is deciding to exercise it because you realise it is more important to do it than not to. And both courage (walking thru fear for something better) and discipline (similar) are so empowering and a blast when you decide to do them!
I talk a big game, but I am learning this myself.😄

Hi, Candy. I like the " ...it all comes down to personal discipline and balance...", which is essential traits to aid you in handling the process of change head-on, even if it is a scary exercise.

I have to agree with https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/stragglewise that this is something we all have but we need to become aware of them and exercise and work on them continuously :-)

Roy

Very interesting posts Roy, thank you. Living a balance life is indeed important and could be achieved thru discipline and determination. Another point in regards to giving, for me I find true happiness in giving to others, not only financially but also giving my time and attention if it's within my capability to do so.

I love the;

"...not only financially but also giving my time and attention if it's within my capability to do so..."

Giving is so fulfiling and gives so much back.

Roy

Thanks Roy, there's always joy in giving
