3 Rules of Engagement For Your Business
It feels like I have gone full circle since I joined Wealthy Affiliate 1 1/2 years ago. Time does fly when you are having fun, doesn´t it?
In my work, I am basically following what I call my "3 rules of engagement." These 3 "rules"can be divided into sub-categories, and I will come back to what they are.
By full circle, I mean I am back to writing blogs again consistently after having had a period of drought in producing new content, I am in the game again.
A part of it is due to Partha´s excellent posts on keywords and ranking, another is Cassi´s, clear-minded and super-focused blog posts about her journey and blueprint for success.
I have come back from my exploratory journey in online marketing, straying from the proven path. Now I clearly that Wealthy Affiliate is at the top of the list to start with affiliate marketing and leverage your business.
Why Is Wealthy Affiliate A Recommended Starting Point?
Simply put; Wealthy Affiliate teaches all the methods you need to do good with affiliate marketing and also provide the needed tools in one place, period.
Some people might not agree with this statement, but I have yet to discover another platform or course that offers a complete package as Wealthy Affiliate do.
Further, the training is structured and comprehensive, and it is continuously updated, and the price plans are simple and easy to understand.
Other platforms teach similar curriculum for free, but they often have extra courses that you have either to pay extra to get access to, or you have to find them elsewhere on the Internet.
One example is the integrated web hosting feature. It only takes less than a minute to have your own website published. The hosting is fast and secure and you have support only a message away, that respond in a very short time.
If you choose to set up your website and find a suitable hosting provider yourself, it will take you quite a bit more time and fiddling to shape your site into how you want it to look than with WA.
Another is the classes. There are several new classes each week, which covers a lot of online marketing. I find answers and solutions to my questions in a class or tutorial on the platform. I don´t need to go other places to find answers.
But the strength and core of Wealthy Affiliate is the method of affiliate marketing, through writing blog posts.
The 3 Rules of Engagement
As briefly mentioned previously, to utilise the power of Wealthy Affiliate and Online Marketing I have 3 basic rules of engagement I follow. These are;
- Goalsetting
- set my goals, short term, midterm, long term and the ultimate goals

- Planning
- Create a not to deviate plan, following the previous goal setting, hour, day week, month, year and decade

- Commitment, Diligence, Focus, Determination and Discipline

The rules of engagement may seem obvious and a bit broad, more like some motivational listing, but they provide me with a good framework for my activities.
In its simplest principle, without these 3 rules of engagement, there will be chaos and no progress, no accountability and no business, period. Without them, it is better to stop what you are doing and find something else to spend your time on.
Pillars For Sustained Success Professionalism
In all I do, I strive to be the best I can be. I fail several times in my doings if you can call it for failures. I call it lessons learned.
What I do not do, is letting the failure of achieving my goals, small or big, divert me from my path to where I want to go. I take that "failure" as an opportunity to become better in what I do the next time around.
To aid me the following 5 bullet points, will help you to build a very strong framework, that can withstand "strong storms".
Do your affiliate marketing with;
- Integrity
- Professionality
- Accountability
- Ethically
- Flexibility
In practical terms, this means that I will not promote something I do not know or cannot provide proof if it is legitimate and a good solution for my target audience. One such product is Wealthy Affiliate and a few other platforms I am an affiliate of.
Some Final Words
A good framework for your daily, monthly and yearly tasks and visions as a marketer/business owner is crucial to your success. You need to take the points mentioned seriously if you want o go somewhere with your affiliate marketing activity.
The points mentioned might seem obvious, but when it comes to action and following them, I do see that they are forgotten in the heat of the battle.
This blog post started out as something completely different. It was meant to be a progress report but ended up in a totally different blog post, but I hope that it will be a post of use to you fellow WArriors.
