Just some thoughts on a Friday related to affiliate programs; While i am writing content, researching and doing training i also search for relevant affilate programs to my website. I try to be careful and apply only to affiliate programs that is obviously within my niches borders. My website is about dogs and living with dogs. These days the weather is getting warmer and as it does, a lot of other animal life and insects comes to life after a long winters sleep.

With a dog you need to take it out for excerice, fun, training, socilaizing and much more. While being outside the dog investigstes every corner, every ditch, grassy areas where a lot of bugs and snakes are living. Occasionally there might be some bug bites, ticks that wants to live off your dog and very seldom, thank god, your dog might get bit by a snake. What do you do when this happens? You have to get into contact with a veterinary for immediate help or guidelines to whatto do to help your four legged friend.

In the course of action there is often a need to get medicine to alleviate/help cure your dog from the encounter. And where do you go for prescription medication for your dog or yourself for that matter, exactly... the drugstore!

Guess what? Not every drugstore thta has an affiliate program agrees to that! I was rejected by one drugstore with an online store the other day. They carry a lot of mediciation and equioment for digs and other pets, but do not think that they need to get business form a website that talks about relevant products and services they provide as a drugstore.

Thak you for reading my Friday rantšŸ˜„ I was abit suprised actually that i would be rejected from this specific affiliate program. I will continue to search for others instead and sometime later come back to this one and try once again.

Have great weekend everybody and stay safe! In my part of Norway it is going get up to 30 degrees this weekend.

So Glad I read your post that Vet Online was One of our ideas for site also glad I didnā€™t start it because I think you got it wrapped up it probably wouldnā€™t matter because Iā€™m from Canada good luck

šŸ¦®. Blind Dog this time the owner can see šŸš¶šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø

Just go for it, Holly. There are many niches wrt to pets and animals. I think your idea with "Vet Online" is a good one and as you say I am one of many and I am aiming mainly at the Nordic countries at the moment, even if I have started to expand a bit lately.

Well thatā€™s awful nice of you thank you is my daughters idea she just got a little baby Dalmatian

Is your site targeting Norway or a different country?

If it is targeting the US, honestly, you may have been rejected for spelling errors. There are quite a few in this post, and merchants would not want to be associated with that.

I know when I was an affiliate manager, that was an issue for me. I felt that my company was being poorly represented on a site that didn't make a good impression.

Don't be afraid to reach out to that program again and make your case on why you think they are a good fit for your site.

Thank you Jeannine for your advice. My website is primarily targeting Norway and the other Nordic countries. So language should not be an issue.

Yes, I see that my post above has some spelling errors. It was written et the end of the day after a long day at work and should have been checked more diligently for spelling errors. Lesson learnedšŸ™ƒ

Regarding the posts published on my website, they are checked several times related to correct grammar and spelling. I do checks with the tools the official language institute in Norway has developed in order to be as safe I can regarding language.

My next niche website will be in English as the main language and will target international audiences. I have registered for Grammarly and am using it for my posts which will be in English language.

While it is never pleasant to hear - rejection is just part of the game. That applies to all business endeavors and to the larger game of life itself too.

When it comes to affiliate programs and related opportunities you can be rejected for all kinds of reasons including not being a good fit. Yet most often, in the beginning, that really isn't what they mean - they really mean they are looking for people with more traffic and influence, and not a new blog or channel, etc. with just a handful of content and little if any traffic.

That will change too as you grow your business - then many of the same people who rejected you early on will be singing a different tune.

Until then my friend, don't sweat it - just keep building your own business empire - and keep moving forward. There are more than enough who will say yes - and plenty of other opportunities too!

Best regards,

L.D. Sewell

Hi, thank you for the motivation and yes that is exactly what I plan to do. Just keeping up the pace, building content, researching new keywords every day, and extending to social media as well.

All the best!

Hopefully there's not many drugstores feeling that way. You would think in the age of technology there won't be any business denying online businesses. I agree with you move on and try them again later. They may wake up and realize that they are losing by not tapping into technology.

Good Luck!

Great post thank you very much for sharing
