Hi Roy,

You should use a site speed test tool to find the reasons and the problems that are causing your problems

Check out the following article for some tips

Thank you for your help onmyownterms and Fleeky

Better ask site support

is there a page builder you would recommend.

All page builders slow your site down if they are a plug-in. The only ones that don't allow you to build the site offline and upload the files, rather than being installed permanently on your site.

More than likely the culprit is Elementor - I have heard this reported from other users.

All my page speed checks are low, on average 60, mobile pages are even worse. Even my privacy page and that has nothing more than text!

Almost all images are using an if

didn't realize that until you mentioned it, thank you.

If you are using Pingdom or GMetrix to check the page speed of your site you should be able to see which are items that are slowing down your site. Big banners / sliders/ videos are some items that could slows down your page if not configures correctly.

Why am I getting slow page speeds?

This is called jumper link or anchor link, there are numerous trainings here so just search in the bar above. Easy job.

ok, i'll get that sorted out, thank you for your help

Roy

crap didn't realize when i pasted the code here it just created the links here's a picture

here's url http://mysticslink.com/real-crystal-balls-using-a-crystal-ball-to-see-whats-beyond

and i'm using the Elementor page builder

I'm not familiar with Elementor, but they appear to be set up improperly, the #name tags can be found in the text prior to the headline, so that's as far as it goes.

Unfortunately, without the actual post, we can't tell. Are you using a plug-in or have you coded the jump links manually?

I want to keep my posts for the website i'm working on in alphabetical order, would it be a bad idea to change the post dates to achieve this? I currently only have 3 out of 10

thank you
Roy

Not at all .. as you wish to do it :)

You can put the order in any way you like. It won't affect the ranking of your site.

Will google penalize me if I change the order of my posts?

This is a two part question. I have been working away on my website and pretty much know how I want it display.

My first question is, how would I filter themes developed

This helped a lot, thank you Dave and Stefan

You are welcome! :))

I will address the second question first. 95% of your theme will have a pro version. They do this because they want to eat also. You need to find one that work well in the free version. Also if you find one that is totally free, it will probably not be supported in the future.

I recommend the Omega Theme. It has a free and pro version. It has been around a long time and should be support for a long time.

Dave

It does help, i didn't think about the vulnerability issues and plug ins potentially being problem, could you give me the names of a few developers or themes you you trust
Thank you,

You might want to have a look at these builders, which come with all you need:

Divi builder
Thrive builder
Themify builder
Beaver builder
Elementor

Or have a look at wordpress . org

Or look for Themeforest, a theme market place. (google it)

Good Luck

Stefan, ToLiNoLi

What I learned about free themes and premium ones is, first impression counts and service and support against vulnerabilities are a must in your business.

So I only buy premium ones to be safe and have an awesome design with many extras you normally need to add as plugins and that can slow down your website too. I get support with questions and the theme is updated regularly.

Hope that helps in your decision.
