Video Marketing Works, I've Tried It!
I have just been reading Jon Lakes post on video marketing and felt compelled to write this short blog post. You can see Jon's blog post here.

I actually make quite a few videos for my off-line business and upload them to YouTube and although I don't receive huge amounts of hits as there are not that many people searching for this particular niche. However, over the months the stats for these videos gradually increase, I believe the first video that I put up for my niche has had just over 4000 views in about two years.
When I speak to a new customer on the phone I always like to ask where they have found me and it is not unusual for them to tell me that we saw one of your videos online! So video marketing definitely works.
I have quite a few various videos in various niches across the Internet and one of these particular videos has over 1/4 a million views now, it's also something that's not particularly exciting! The power of the Internet never fails to amaze me.
I was talking to an extremely successful Internet marketer the other day on Skype and he was telling me the importance of video. If we can introduce ourselves in a video and we can build a relationship and confidence in people about our online business, I believe that this can be hugely powerful, in fact I have proved it can be.
So to conclude, I would definitely say use video. Some of my videos only have a few views, but I believe as a YouTube channel grows, view numbers will build. If you don't like being in front of the camera start creating how-to videos and gradually your confidence will build.

Hey thanks for the info. I've been thinking about creating my own YouTube channel and making some videos concerning my niche website and diverting some of my traffic to my website. Your post was very informative and enlightening.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my blog post. It's good that your husband has made a few videos, I am still getting used to showing my face, but I believe that we have to forget how we look and just be ourselves! I never feel that I am photographic at all, but we just have to get over it.
Is the ice cream and excuse to eat ice cream or really make videos!!! Lol! I would just try a few practice runs in front of your computer and see how it goes, it will build confidence.

No, Hubby hasn't been brave enough to be on video yet, he just made info videos, only showing slides.
All of us probably have ideas of how we "should" look to be photogenic, but if we look at those who are successful in video marketing, are they REALLY photogenic? I doubt it, I guess we are simply more interested in the value they provide (what is in it for us), than in what they look like. [roll eyes] And that is probably what OUR viewers will be more interested in as well... [wink] although I am still trying to convince myself of that too... ;-) LOL!
I'm not sure about the ice cream and the excuse, but if the reward for making a video, is ice cream... well... then you may even get ME so far as to attempt making a video! ;-) LOL!

Truth be told - I decided that my 2019 goal is to be very selective and only read blogposts from those who (I feel) provide consistent business / affiliate marketing value. (This is what I pay for, this is not facebook, right?) You are one of them that I read, Roy. :-)

I think that creating videos in front of the camera is probably one of the hardest things on Internet marketer has to do. Personally, I have more videos with how-to's rather than show my face, although hopefully, this is changing!
I used to be part of a large church in London, I am now in a church much closer to home. However, sometimes the small group that I was in would lead the prayer meeting in the main church. I don't enjoy public speaking, but I have to say it was becoming much easier the more times I was on the platform, I tried to think that I was talking to one person rather than literally hundreds of people! I think we need to do this with video as well, imagine we are talking to a best friend or wife or husband!
Thank you for your kind PS message, I really do appreciate it. I think it must be a really difficult job for Kyle and Carson to keep this Internet marketing training platform on the right wavelength. It's very easy for people to turn it into a Facebook type platform, which really isn't the point, the main thing is that we share knowledge about Internet marketing and learn together. I generally ignore posts that don't have Internet marketing content. It's not that I don't care, because I really do care about people, it's just that we have to try and keep on the right track and there are so many things that can take us away from our goals.

Perfect! When giving lectures, they taught us to do the same thing, namely to choose one person at the back of the room to talk to.
Yes, I fully agree, it is not because we don't care - but there is just that many hours in a day... and if we want to be successful at our online businesses, we have to prioritize those who aligns with what we want to achieve. I am grateful that YOU are one of them, Roy!

I guess you are going through the Wealthy Affiliate training at the moment, I would try and stick to that as you will eventually come to the video training.

Thank you for your reply, the reason I said that your link is a bit off topic is that my blog post is about video marketing, not about the 5G threat! I just feel it's important to try and keep things in the right category, especially as Wealthy Affiliate is about making money online.
I have no real interest in climate change as I feel a lot of it is man-made and costing people huge amounts in taxes. I remember there was a global warming conference in Copenhagen a few years ago which was cancelled due to bad weather. However, we are all entitled to our opinions and all these things are great to debates in the right place.

I am not photogenic and video scares the crap out of me. I am trying to work out how to do it without being in front of the camera. I tried an animated video software but the expressions were bad so I gave it up.
I agree there about hating being in front of it, I might ask my kids to help me out when I make them.
Maybe you can start by text and photos to create a video. I made one using Lumen5 and I found it pretty easy.
That sound like an idea
using animation videos to get started.
I think that I will do some research on it.

I think many of us have this problem Kerry, the more we think about it the worse it gets! But we have to forget about this and as I mentioned practice makes perfect. Jay has made some great videos on video marketing, I know that these will definitely help to give you confidence. Here's a link to one of his videos, you can find more if you carry out a search. Producing Your 1st YouTube Video Just keep practising Kerry and your confidence will grow. Don't forget you can make how-to videos where you don't need to show your face, this will also help to bring confidence.
