Twitter or Facebook?
Everything we hear today about social media seems to be Facebook, Facebook and Facebook!
I have a few Facebook pages, which I have to say is a lot of work although it is a good way to grow your network and get authority online. I have to say that I don't have time to update all my Facebook pages as much as I should. I was speaking with a friend who has an off-line business and I was asking where most of his work comes from and his answer was, Facebook! This surprised me, but one thing that he does regularly is to post almost every day and he said this makes a huge difference. He actually showed me all his messages from clients that he had received from Facebook, I was actually amazed, so Facebook definitely works.
I also have a few Twitter accounts and I recently opened a new Twitter account, three weeks ago in fact. My Twitter account feeds through to my Facebook page, so I'm now tweeting through Twitter and everything is also being seen on my Facebook page! I have to say that I find it much quicker to tweet and to respond to tweets and much easier to respond to people on Twitter than Facebook, especially on a mobile device.
I will write a blog post soon on my Twitter followers, but certainly for now Twitter is a very quick way to grow your following, especially if it is also feeding to a Facebook page.
Also remember, that consistency pays off!

Oh wow I need to set that up! I have both Twitter and Facebook set up but they aren’t feeding off of each other. Evidently I have an old email linked to my Facebook so I need to change it. Thanks for sharing!!

I didn’t know you could do this. I get frustrated with the FB algorithm on my business page limiting reach. Maybe this will help.

Thank for sharing this info on your blog. I, like everybody else, receive a lot of Twitter messages and never answer them back as I never sign up for an account on twitter as I thought it would basically for nothing more the connecting. Great info.

I will be interested to read about your latest Twitter experiment Roy. Like you say Facebook still seems to be the most popular. What do you use a third party app to feed Twitter through to Facebook?

Hello Mark, I hope that you are doing well, thank you for taking the time to comment. I'm actually using the Twitter software to feed through to my Facebook page, it does have limitations, if you have multiple accounts, but for the time being it is working for me and saving me time.
I think the next blog post will be more on the results of my Twitter experiment.

I'm interested to read you have a few facebook pages, as I only have one, which is in my name, so easiier to manage, Likewise I have a twitter account in my name, which is linked to my facebook page
I tend to post from my facebook page using #tags out to twitter, but would agree with you that posting regulalry is crucial, as it shows consistency and keeps you focused ( I use the ADDTOANY icon on my google Tool bar to post
Posting regulalry on twitter does build up your folowing quickly, and like you have noticed that posting regulalry on a daily basis, since following the training here, that my followers have increased very quickly
Your right consistency pays off for sure, it keeps us above the noise
Thank you for taking the time to comment Dave. Unfortunately, I do have a few Facebook pages and the problem is that they are a lot of work. We hear so much about Facebook but really our main focus should be adding content to our website and then posting to social media, unfortunately I think that it can be the other way around sometimes.
I definitely think posting regularly and trying to reply enjoying conversation helps to get you down quickly, either way it takes time and effort.

Roy, you are right, multiple profiles can be difficult to manage and time consuming a tthe same time. As you say we should be posting to our website first, social media second, but sadly it is the other way round for most.
I have one page, as previously mentioned, which is far easier and I have joined that to my facebook group, which has a title, optimised for facebook searches, so when people join it, they will also see my page postings
However, that said, since being here, I have made as I'm sure others have, concious efforts to reverse that and appear to be winning :)
The ADDTOANY google toolbar extension available from the webstore is a great way to promote to multiple SM accounts, with ease

Agree, Twitter is great and fast to grow naturally many followers. Will keep the Facebook direct posting idea through Twitter in my mind.

Roy, Do you use Tailwinds? I have a Tailwind account and use it to post my my twitter, pinterest and instagram accounts. I have not used it for Facebook, but am going to check that out.
Hello Marge, thanks for taking the time to comment. I don't actually and I haven't heard this particular software, I have used HootSuite in the past and it may be something that I will use again. I actually used the Twitter software to share, the only problem with this is that I believe I can only share to one Facebook page or maybe if I explain this better, I can only use the Twitter software to one Twitter account, I cannot have multiple Twitter accounts and then share to Facebook. This is where something like HootSuite or something similar could be useful.
