There's never been a better time to have your own business!
These are only my thoughts but I really believe that we live in a great age for having your own business, there are endless opportunities if you are willing to work! I have been self-employed since 1983, sold a couple of successful businesses, I have also had failures and successes and hard times, but I believe that now is a great time to have your own business.
I remember in the early days when I was still at school I would reply to a post card in a corner shop window for jobs, for example, I would look after people's gardens, this was a great way for me to earn extra money and this enabled me to buy my first car debt free, with the money that I had earned from doing these various jobs.
In 1983, when I first became self-employed, I would have to promote my business through a leaflet drop, advertising in shop windows and magazines, but I never quite knew who would see these ads and what the response would be, it was very hit and miss, but that was really the only way at this time. I actually believe these methods can still work to a certain extent, however, the majority of young people are walking around with their smart phones searching for everything they need, so the Internet is definitely the way ahead to promote your business. We even have analytics to see where our business is coming from!
The Internet is the businessman's best friend
I remember advertising in magazines, which for a quality magazine could be quite expensive, I remember that I couldn't wait to buy the magazine and try and find my advert, I would often have to look extremely hard and eventually you just see a little box in the corner with my advertisement!
How things have changed! I find it utterly amazing how through the power of the Internet we can now promote our brand or service to the world, to me, this is utterly astounding!
Recently I started a new off-line business, I had no work, which I wasn't worried about but this very quickly changed by utilising the power of the Internet I was able to move my business forward. I believe that by using the training taught here at Wealthy Affiliate we can really leverage the power of the Internet and grow our business, whether it be off-line or online. Just remember that this does take time and effort though.
I am writing this blog post to encourage you to help you to see the power of the Internet, there are so many various platforms and we can promote our brand on.
So be encouraged, I believe the Internet has changed the way we do business totally and it has became the businessman's best friend!

You can really realistically compare the off-line times and nowadays. And there is a value in it.
