Self Discipline

We all need self-discipline, but sometimes this is much easier said than done! It is very easy to get sidetracked in life, especially with modern devices like smart phones etc. I always think that it is good to start the day with the jobs that we really dislike and by getting these tasks completed first, we can then fix our minds on the better things that we have to do.

Make sure and complete one task at a time, if we try and do too many projects or tasks at once, we will fail miserably and probably not complete any of them properly.

Make an effort to keep your work area tidy, for me this has a very effective and positive impact to help me complete tasks.

Make a plan for the week ahead and carry out one task at a time and watch your list become smaller, there's something very satisfying about crossing things off your job list.

Allow enough time for each task to be completed, don't run around like a headless chicken, you will get nowhere! And most of all enjoy life.

Thank you for reading.

I like your last statement, " Enjoy life! " I think that's our ultimate goal, that's why we try to work hard, but not too hard that we miss on the most important things in life. Thanks for your post.

Hi Roy,
I'm just beginning to use list writing as a strategy. I've never been a list person but I'm beginning to see things checked off. That's encouraging!
Thanks for sharing!

Hello Bob, I hear you, I didn't used to be a list person, it was, in fact, my wife that encouraged me to use a list and to tick things off one step at a time.

All the best to you Bob,

Roy

Yay for our wives!

Lol! Definitely Bob, I hear you!

Thanks for sharing, Roy.

True indeed and thanks for the advice and for pointing us in the right direction
Lilian

Self , discipline masu I know I need more discipline but I have so much going on at one time but it's hard to do my tasks. And keep it with the other stuff myself I have so many things going but it's hard to keep up with it but all I can do is just keep trying and trying to keep my I'm trying to keep my mind on this kind of stuff at all times I get on here and work on my phone or my tablet from the time I wake up until 10:11 at night and it seems like I still don't get much accomplished I am trying my best to self discipline myself to make my brain turn around and start working in the way it should that is probably has nothing to do with what you was actually saying but that's just my way of saying how I feel about self discipline sometimes it's hard to do but I stay on here and try anyway.

Set your compass and strictly adhere to it!

Very true Michael, I hear you!

Your post reads like gospel to me. I'm working in a world-class high tech facility temporarily to fund my business and there's a poster in the hall that reads "multi-tasking" is a myth. I have to tell myself, "repeat after me, I will do one thing at a time" just to stay productive and on track. Excellent post

Cheers Roy sound advice!

Wayne

Agreed. I need to write running lists, or I just can't get ahead. I also use so many post-it notes I could probably become a 3M investor. :)
