It's Easier Than It Used To Be! (For Newbies)
I'm just writing this blog post for anyone who is new to Wealthy Affiliate. You may find the whole process of creating an Internet business rather challenging, maybe you don't know a single thing about Internet marketing or making money online. In 2004 I had my first website for my off-line business, and I knew absolutely nothing about websites, I didn't have a clue what URL was, a domain name and what on earth is hosting, I knew absolutely nothing!
I have good news for you, it has become much easier to create an online business and help is available!
The problem I had when I first started researching Internet marketing back in 2004 was that I was working totally blind and I really didn't know how to set up an online business, you can learn more about how I started online in my bio and previous blog posts.
The great news is that however much or however little you know, you can learn through the Wealthy Affiliate training, you're never too old to learn and it's never too late to learn! I feel that the best thing I can say to you regarding this great platform is to Take Action! In the past I have spent too long procrastinating and not taking enough action, don't be like me!
Just go through the training step-by-step, take action, ask questions along the way and you will be utterly amazed at how quickly you progress!
And don't forget, it's much easier than it used to be!

You've touched on the key points:
1) Follow the training
2) Take action to practice what you learn
3) Ask questions.
There is no magic to success. Once you have the right information and tools, it only requires action. Of course, time is another important factor. It may not happen over night. It often requires time to mature.

That is such a relevant point, Roy, and as technology advances, it is becoming easier again, the really cool thing about Wealthy Affiliate is that the platform is dynamic and continues to grow and develop adding new up to date resources that only help us to further our online endeavors.

I just happened to be thinking the other day when I was working on my off-line job, how much easier Internet marketing has become, especially when we receive good instruction, as from Wealthy Affiliate! I can remember in the past purchasing some absolutely awful Internet marketing products that do absolutely nothing, thankfully those days are over!

So true. How often I hear but WordPress is hard and no one knows how to do it. Over (I think) 56% off all websites are WordPress based and everything you need is at WA.

Agreed. It has a slight learning curve but the basics are pretty simple to grasp once you've spent some time in the admin area of your website. Also, most serps that come up are WordPress sites and there's a reason for that - WordPress is the best.
Thank you Peter, it is so true what you have said! I remember when WordPress first came out and it was absolutely awful, especially if you are not technically minded. I think WordPress was introduced in around 2003, but thankfully it has dramatically changed and improved and thankfully we receive good instruction here at Wealthy Affiliate.

So many of the courses and training I've been through has either left something missing or was just plain boring to work on. This is both fun and doable and with the community and help, the way it is set up, well, it seems like success is right around the corner.

Great post, Roy. It was definitely trial and error back in the day. Some of the training I purchased came in a 3-ring binder or 3.5-inch disk.
