If You Are Using Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Make Sure And Update!
I've been using Dragon NaturallySpeaking probably for 10 years plus now, I think I'm on my fourth or fifth different version now. In case you don't know what Dragon NaturallySpeaking is, it is speech software that types for you! It's not cheap, but it definitely helps me as I cannot type particular quickly. Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15 is the best version that I have used, so far!
I know that Dragon NaturallySpeaking is far from perfect and it can be frustrating at times. Just over the last few weeks the accuracy seems to have been extremely poor, having to correct every sentence, literally!
I was just about to write on a help forum that I use for Dragon NaturallySpeaking and discovered that there is an update. Normally, in general we are alerted for updates, however, on this particular occasion I wasn't.
I have just installed the update to Dragon NaturallySpeaking, the current version is 15.3.
Thankfully, the accuracy has now greatly improved, it is not perfect, but it's far quicker than me typing.
So if you're using Dragon naturally speaking, make sure that you have the free update for version 15, it definitely helps.
Thank you for reading.

Hello Mick,
Thank you for your reply. It's worth taking a look at Mick, it's not cheap, but it does save a lot of time. I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking all the time, just make sure you have a good microphone and reasonably powerful PC.
Wishing you a good day.

Yes, and check the text often. If you don't enunciate clearly, what you said may not have been what was typed. Sometimes I read over what Ive dictated, and have no clue as to what I said...lol.
My Dragon just updated itself to version 15.3 when I turned it on, Roy. I haven't used it in a while.
Hello Marion,
I hope you're doing well and business is good. Now does this mean that you can type quickly or you are just not using Dragon?! I have no idea why Dragon didn't inform me, regarding the update. It was getting very frustrating to use, I was correcting every sentence. The update has cured this issue, which is fantastic.
Wishing you a really good day.

I type really, really fast. So fast that I injured the tendons in my arms 30+ years ago and the pain comes back when I type too much. I bought Dragon at a time when I was doing a lot of writing and I only boot it up occasionally when I need to write a lot.
Hello Rosana,
Thank you for your reply.
I don't know what version of Dragon you were using Rosana? One thing's for sure that Dragon naturally speaking version 15 is the best version that I have used so far. It's important to have a reasonably powerful computer and a decent microphone. This also makes a big difference to the accuracy.
Have a great day.

I just upgraded my microphone so I can make audiobooks of my existing books and my computer should be good enough!
Hello Alexander,
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog post. In normal circumstances, manufacturers seem to alert me to updates. However, in this case, I didn't receive an update! I can't believe the difference the update has made, it is so much better.
Have a good day.

Thank you Joe, yes it's all sorted out, as I mentioned, the upgrade made a huge difference.
Have a great day.

Hello Ingrid,
It's very useful, just make sure you have a reasonably powerful computer and a decent microphone, Dragon works much more efficiently if you have the right PC.
Have a good day.

Hello Benjamin,
Thank you for your reply, it definitely helps me, in fact, I would be lost without Dragon naturally speaking!
Enjoy your day.

I use a previous version. The latest is too pricey for me. I love the version I have; it works fast.
That's good David, I think I started at about version 7 or 8, I believe the previous version was 13 and I moved to version 15. It certainly improved over the years. I think the most important requirement with Dragon is a decent PC and microphone.
Have a good day.
Right
I don't type very fast either. So for my longer posts, I just talk into my iPhone and send an email to myself.
It's pretty accurate, but I need to talk like a robot for it to pick up each word decisively.
Hello Brad,
Thank you for your reply. I know the feeling, as regards typing fast or slow! It may be worth giving Dragon NaturallySpeaking a try, it's much better than it used to be. You just need to have a reasonably powerful computer and decent microphone for it to work effectively.
Your iPhone idea sounds good, although you wouldn't need to talk like a robot to Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
Have a great day.
