I was thinking the other day, how many people actually follow through at Wealthy Affiliate and become successful?

First of all, do not give up!

I believe that there are about 1.5 million members at Wealthy Affiliate, which really is quite astounding! I appreciate that not all these members are active, however, quite a few are.

Every day I see new premium members who have joined this great platform, they are full of ambition, excitement and want to have a successful online business. However, how many people really do follow through and make a success of their online business?

I think it's great to have ambition and fire in our belly, I believe that often people think an online business is an easy way to make money. However, like any business, it takes hard work and effort and probably the biggest thing is to be consistent. I know that every business takes time as I also have an off-line business.

If you're new here or have been here a long time and you're not making money, can I encourage you to go through the training, step by step and take action? At Wealthy Affiliate you have everything you need to start and on line business, there is nothing missing. All you need is energy and enthusiasm and consistency, if you have this, you're well on the way to making money online.

As you can see my profile below, I made plenty of mistakes in the beginning as I was working totally blind and alone! Wealthy Affiliate gives you step-by-step instructions on how to create a successful online business and a forum to communicate with others. You're not alone!

Just yesterday I was listening to a video from a successful Internet marketer who was saying on average it takes people six months to 3 years to earn £1000 a month online. Obviously this depends on how much time and effort you're able to put into your business. For many of us, we are working full-time jobs, so time can be limited.

My advice is to keep your full-time job and build your online business gradually, but at the same time as quickly as possible. We all need money coming in every month to pay the bills. Forget television programmes, Facebook etc, just work on your online business and you will start to see success.

Be patient, it is hard sometimes working online and not seeing any results. However, forget about results and carry on doing the work, statistics can be very distracting at times. If you will keep plodding on with your online business you will eventually see results.

If you're reading this blog post, be encouraged, it is possible to make money online. I still have a successful off-line business, but at the same time I'm building my online business for the future.

Will you be a success story?

Thank you for reading.

Roy

Great post with excellent advice. Good questions, too. How many of us really do follow through? If there is no follow through... Well, I guess we are one of those that sit in our mom's basement and complain that this doesn't work...

Thanks for sharing, Roy!

With 2020 Vision,
Karin 😎

Thank you Karin, we need to be people of action and consistent, in this way will get the breakthrough.

Have a great day.

Roy

Great post! According to statistics in affiliate marketing that I found online: about 12% in the industry in general is doing really great in affiliate marketing. So that would say that 1-2 out of 10 will probably follow through and do really great. 50% will earn under $20k a year and the rest somewhere in between. I do not know if these numbers apply to WA. Is there any statistics available on this?

Good morning Hilde,

I appreciate you taking the time to read my blog post and comment.

My guess is that it is probably less than 12%, obviously, this depends on where the figures are taken from. They are very interesting stats so, I have to say.

I believe that there are many people who want their own business, however, they are not really willing to put in the effort. When I was in my late teens, many people couldn't understand how I had a brand-new four-wheel-drive vehicle, I knew exactly why; I was out working well most of them were drinking in the pub! I see far too many talkers and people who want their own business, but they have no idea how much work it takes.

It would be interesting to see what the genuine stats are, I don't even know what the stats are for starting an off-line business, as in success rate.

Have a great day.

Roy

Yes You are so right about that. I think I saw it on Statista in an article there. I have been working since I was 14 so I know exactly what you are saying. If you find any more genuine stats remember to share it with me. I have been looking for it too.

Good morning Hilde,

My apologies for the late reply Hilde, I hope you're doing well.

It sounds like you have been working hard too, my very first job was delivering newspapers once a week, I guess I was 14 too!

I think I read the other day that Wealthy Affiliate has 2.2 million members, which is absolutely amazing. I appreciate that many are not active. Every day I see many new faces joining, I'm sure people start out with good intentions but just don't realise how much work it actually takes!

Have a great day.

Roy

Great advice Roy...it really is a marathon not a sprint. It does take time to even get Google to realise you exist..around 8 or 9 months form them to see if you are a legit website that is adding regular helpful content, so many give up around 3 or 4 months because they are seeing no results. I think the term "Writing for a Ghost Town" is coined by a couple of likeable lads from Idaho who run an online course and they say it is normal not to see any kind of results in the first year and on average, it can take 15 months + to be seeing £1000 pcm from your site.
My tips would be entirely the same as yours.
1. Don't be too quick to quit your day job!
2. Build your website and add regular decent content.
3. Keep adding new content every week..1 to 2 articles 1000 words+
4. Treat your website as your serious side-hustle, so make it about something you like and are passionate about.
5. Be patient and don't lose focus.
6. The WA formula really does work and have belief because WA is giving you some of the best tools I have ever seen and the hosting alone is worth 10 times what you are paying every month..seriously, check out some of the monthly costs for fast hosting companies..and I am not talking about the cheap as chips ones here...I mean the seriously decent ones.

and finally.....

7. Don't quit!

Hope that helps guys.

Great response.
I love love Jim and Ricky, they are two of the most pragmatic and sensible marketeers I have ever found, who offer clear cut direction with very watchable bite sized you tube vids.
. I am not even on a “pizza day” yet but I fully intend to get there and far beyond pizza or curry day.
You mentioned some great and salient point to enable us the ability to see tangible growth, I second your 1-6 bullet points,

👍

They are good guys and honest. I like that approach a lot which is why I love WA and Kyle so much....it's refreshingly honest.

Good morning Tony,

I hope you're doing well and that business is good. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my blog post, my apologies for the late reply.

I hear you regarding the likeable lad's, I enjoy listening to their videos. I don't actually often watch their videos as I am generally working my off-line business, so I have to listen rather than watch! They do actually give very good information.

Thank you for your tips, they are appreciated.

It's very important that we have an income coming in when we are building an online business, unfortunately, bills keep coming in!

To me, consistency is key, big time, as in adding quality content on a regular basis.

I believe it's so important to have a passion for our job or niche or whatever you like to call it. I can't imagine going to work or try to write blog posts without having any passion.

I think losing focus on the Internet, is huge! There are just so many distractions, especially social media! I find the best ways to have minimal tabs open, set a time limit for each task, and shut yourself away with no distractions.

The Wealthy Affiliate training definitely works, if I had found this training back in 2004 it would have saved me literally thousands! I guess my websites have been hosted at Wealthy Affiliate now for about two years, prior to this I was paying approximately the amount I pay for membership at Wealthy Affiliate.

The new hosting at Wealthy Affiliate has actually moved up several gears now and is even better. I really believe that we get excellent value here, I will probably be a lifetime member.

Don't quit, that's a big one, I think far too many people quit too easily and also sometimes when they are literally just about to breakthrough!

Have a great day Tony.

Roy

Good morning Cordelia,

I hope you're doing well. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my blog post, it's appreciated.

I'm in full agreement with Tony too! I also enjoy Ricky and Jim's videos, they give great, honest advice, very similar to what we receive at Wealthy Affiliate.

Have a great day.

Roy

Your hundred percent correct Roy, WA is a long-term project, it needs to be nurtured like any good fruit tree, it takes time to grow and bear its fruits. Nothing happens overnight, it's a slow process of trial and error, but one that will lead to success as you say, if you put your time into it.

Joe

Hello Joe,

It's good to hear from you, I hope you're doing well.

Very wise words Joe, I hear you big time! Everything takes time and effort, we need to enjoy every moment of the journey.

Wishing you all the best.

Roy

Great motivational post, Roy.

I've been here a while and I've seen people come and go for various reasons.

For me, being retired, I'm here to make money BUT I'm not in dire need so I have a habit of fading in and out even though I love it here. So, there are many factors involved in how successful people are.

The only mistake is thinking that you can make money without time and effort. It's a job but one with many benefits. 😉

Debbi

Hello Debbi,

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog post, it's appreciated.

It looks like you are enjoying yourself here at Wealthy Affiliate, which is great news!

I am sure that when you were in the financial world it was quite tough and you had to work hard. As you mention, we have to work hard to make our online business work. However, once we get there, the rewards are good and worth all the effort.

Wishing you all the best.

Roy
