For the past couple of years I have been fairly busy getting a new off-line business off the ground, thankfully now it is getting more established and I have a bit more time to work on my online business. I know that this something that I need to really focus on so I'm trying to write a blog post every day and create a video every day. So far I have managed to write at least one blog post per day and sometimes more, unfortunately, I haven't achieved this with my videos as yet, I would say I'm probably producing a video every other day.

I have to say it's very satisfying having goals to reach and to try and achieve, we also need accountability, I'm trying to use my wife to keep me accountable!

I know that I need to focus more on my online business as in the past I have seen great results and I'm still getting results, but I do know that there is a huge potential for a dramatic increase in my web influence.

Out of interest, how do you stay accountable and how do you reach your goals?

I would be interested to hear how you manage your goals etc.

Thank you for reading.

This is a tremendous work rate, Roy. I would need to be doing this full time to match that. One day soon, I hope!

Steve.

Thank you for taking the time to comment Steve.

I did try and get up at 5 AM as I have an off-line business, it's a time when I'm at my best and the phone is ringing, so I can achieve a reasonable amounts.

I hope that you can go full time very soon Steve.

Have a great day.

Roy

This is wonderful ,good for you , keep going !

Thank you, Elaine and Scarlett, I appreciate you reading my blog post.

Enjoy your day.

Roy

Your goals are very demanding, I wish you
to get there.
It would be great!

Ingrid

Hello Ingrid,

I hear you, sometimes I feel we have to give ourselves that extra push.

Roy

Hi Roy,

I also appear to have a wife :-D that holds me accountable. I also got a coach that helps me set them (actually a co-active life coach but using her a bit for my business too) and I got a friend that I try to have weekly or monthly meetings with to spar with.

As for setting goals, I set them monthly and I got a long-term goal that I set at the beginning of the year and lasts until the end of the year.

Steven

Wow wow and wow
Good for you, Scarlett and I need a tribe lol

Thank you for taking the time to comment Steven, I do appreciate it.

I really think that accountability is a very good thing in life, I think that some people can find it a bit scary, but it is really beneficial as you are obviously saying.

Your goal setting sounds very wise Steven.

Enjoy your day.

Hi Roy,
Doing a blog post AND a video every day is a big ask so doing one every other day is pretty awesome.
I manage to write a blog post every day (Monday to Friday) and have done since Jan 7th this year when we came back after the Christmas break. That was my main goal because so many people here at WA have had fantastic success doing just that.
@littlemama is a great inspiration.

We are already seeing the results from this increase in productivity in terms of visitors to our blog and social media accounts and also new starters here at WA.

We created a spreadsheet with all the daily tasks we set out to achieve and this keeps us accountable as we tick them off during the day.

I have started doing 1 video a week but am looking to increase that over the coming weeks as video is so huge now.

Keep up the great work

Jon and Debbie

How impressive!
Thanks for kicking us in the rear to speed up to another gear lol
You do a post every day?...wow wow wow

Hi Scarlett and Elaine. Believe me I did it, kicking and screaming!!! Despite loving the beauty of the English language, I was not keen on writing every day!
Having done it daily now for several weeks, you know what, I actually enjoy it! Who knew!!?

But, the results we are now starting to see make it very worthwhile.

Jerry Rice Quote: “Today i will do what others won't so tomorrow i can do what others can't.”

All the best

Jon and Debbie

Great job on your commitment! I’d love to have an accountability coach as I’m procrastinating far to much here and need to get things going. And perfect quote!
Thanks for the inspiration 😃

Regina

Hi Regina, If we can help in any way just shout

All the best

Jon and Debbie

Hello Jon,

Thank you for your great and comprehensive comment, Jon, I do appreciate it.

Writing a blog post-Monday to Friday is probably actually better in a way as we don't then suffer from burnout, although I believe in working hard. I also believe it's good to stop and take quality time out! It certainly seems like the simple answer to success is to write blog posts on a regular basis, I have heard people ask what did you do to be successful? And many times their answer is, "nothing really, I just blogged regularly"!

I believe that Grace is a great example of this is you have mentioned.

It's great that you are already seeing results Jon, this says a lot!

A spreadsheet sounds like a very good system to make sure your tasks are complete.

Have a great day and thank you so much for your input.

Roy

Hello Regina,

Maybe you need an accountability partner, I believe that procrastination is something that many of us have suffered with, I certainly have in the past! Accountability is a great thing to have, it really helps to keep us motivated and on top of our goals.

Enjoy your day.

Roy

Thanks Roy. Have a great Friday

Wow! - I have been trying to do a post every two days since Christmas to really boost my page along.. I write one day, proofread and publish, research the next topic and do some training the second and then start again... With an occaisonal video thrown in... My wife and I also run two pilates studios so we go all day.

As for accountablility, we listen to a lot of podcasts around goal setting and we remind each other constantly why we are doing this and what we want out of it.

I heard a great podcast today on Impossible goals. I will blog it here tomorrow when I can.

That is some great work to get one a day - well done!

Paul

Hello Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to comment. It seems like you are both very busy people, which is great. One blog post every other day is is pretty good going, I don't know how long I will keep this up for as my off-line business gets busier in the springtime but I'm certainly going to try!

This sounds interesting Paul, I often listen to podcasts and even video training, even though I can't see the screen when I'm working on my off-line job, it's a wonderful resource.

Have a great day.

Roy

Thanks a lot for sharing!
Wish you all the best!
Bob

Thank you Bob, very much appreciated!

Enjoy your day.

First step to setting goals is making sure they are achievable!

I am really liking the goal setting tool in the site content area, it keeps me accountable.

I also leave a note on my desk with my weekly goals and then write a to do list each morning and tick them off as I complete them.

I also use my partner for accountability.

Hello Nicky,

Your points sound very good and ideal.

Incidentally, I didn't know there was a goal setting tool, I must take a look.

Enjoy your day.

Roy

Did you manage to find it Roy? It's under site content in the statistics section. Very easy to do :)

A big goal can be divided into a smaller goals - a more manageable goal.

In order to achieve my monthly goal, I will divide my tasks into weekly and this will become my weekly goal. And my weekly goal will then be divided to set my daily goal.

Failure to achieve my daily goal means failure to achieve my monthly goal.

Thus, there is no time to waste. I have definite goal everyday.

This sounds like a sensible idea to achieve the maximum results!

Have a great day and thank you for commenting.

Roy

To do lists

I hear you!

Enjoy your day.
