Progress Report - My First Month at WA
I'm on my final week entering my first month of journey here at WA.
When i decided to join Wealthy Affiliate my main goal was to have my own online business while I am hoping it could replace my regular earnings from my day job that I had given up as I need to stay close to my only daughter.
I've chosen a niche (mymirrorlesscameras) that's part of my hobby and also because I have my own unit. I'm quite confident that I could easily write contents about it, with in mind that I have experience in product evaluation and writing procedures (the only difference is the product itself).
Unknowingly as I am really new to affiliate marketing and the training, I could barely make any progress. I tend to jump around as I see that my contemporaries are already so far ahead and some have already earned their first affiliate income. That made me even more nervous (not just about to quit yet) if I have really made the right decision or choice.
Realising my own mistake, I had to go back and follow the step by step training and just doing the task one by one. Little steps that made some progress although I've noticed that some part of training could've been updated as there are already some available option to shorten the process. However, for the sake of the training and to correct my mindset I still have followed the training as it was delivered.
I have built my website and created content as my task required me. To date, my website had been indexed by Google (as I got notified for it) while my contents are still not yet indexed. I have now laid down the foundation and hopefully it will lead to some favorable results in the near future.
My biggest challenge now is how can I make my website relevant. The mere fact that there are hundreds of websites that are talking about the same subject and issues, not to mention that they have been into their business long before and have all the expertise and credibility that anyone would consider anytime instead of my startup website.
I'm at the end of level 2 training and would like to see myself complete the OEC training this year. I'm ready for the disappointments and struggles but I'm just hoping It will not come to the point of quitting! Failure is not an option for me now but it is always easier said than done!

I know it was probably disheartening, and you may be a bit confused, but I am now happy that you have finally made some progress.
Sometimes, we may feel as if we are not good enough, and we make the mistake of comparing ourselves with others and their websites.
Never forget that although we may be all saying the same thing regarding the information of our niches, only the unique factor - YOU, will make a difference.
Remember your why and the reasons behind your why, and let that be your focus.
This will push you through to be successful.

This may not be smooth journey as we sail to our destination but we just need to be patient, resilient and determined. Never give up despite the many challenges we encounter along the way.

I agree that you must go through the training first to get set up friend. Some people would try and skip the video training, only to find themselves confused. It is better to take your time as you learn and apply the knowledge. But I see you have a good mindset to get things done. I think you can go through the whole OEC training sooner if you spend a couple of hours on a daily basis.
