Gutenberg tip - image & paragraph

Have preserved with Gutenberg and thought I would add a couple of tips.

1. Go slowly. As it updates if you accidentally delete something you could need to start over.

2. Grammarly takes time to load. Wait it will load on each block, it just takes a few seconds.

3. To add a block ( either paragraph or image) the quickest way is to find the spot you want to add it, then click on the+ button at the top of the block below this position. It will add the block just above. It is much better than using the + at the top right.

Marion's training is great but I found this as I was amending previously published posts and wanted to add a photo or paragraph.

When you add an image, do the same, it will load large but then just change the size on the far right, then add the position you want to put the image left or right and it will pull the writing from the paragraph below and put it into place.

In this way it is similar to classic - you just can't use the cursor to locate the position you want. Instead you use the + button at the top of the paragraph. Hope this makes sense to you.

Hope this is helpful. I am liking it more as I use it.

Thanks for the info

Great advice, thank you!

Don't suppose you would know how to resize images in the gallery? Despite properly scaling the images, the Editor keeps using my images in their original size. So I had to delete all the original files. Resize offline. Then re-upload.

When I tried gallery I uploaded a photo. It stayed large but when I added a second it shrank to two to a page. When I added a third they went to the med-smal size and was 3 a line. The fourth went to a second line. I didn't play around much but try this instead of trying to size it yourself.

Yea, I had no problems when using 3 or more images. But when I want to use just 2 in the gallery, they're just too big! Unless they're uploaded already scaled down.

Irritating when you just want to use a couple of existing images from other articles.

Awesome thanks for the share!

Thanks for sharing.

Wordpress' Gutenburg can take some getting used to. I deleted my whole blog post accidentally, and undo wasn't working. But I exited the page without saving and was able to load it again.

Hi Kerry,
Thanks for the tips. I have found Grammarly loads slowly even using the Classic Editor so you have to be patient.

I will be switching to Gutenberg Editor soon.
