WOW, WA Hosting Must Be Ultra-Fast!
I have a huge old site that is more than 10 years old. It's the one that starts with S on my list of sites, if you are curious to see it, and it's about many aspects of simple green living. I haven't worked on it much for the past couple of years, but recently I moved it over to WA for hosting. My plan is to do this with all my sites, several more to go.
I'd been using a theme on that site called Weaver, which isn't necessarily the fastest but it had some features I liked. Once I got set up here, I figured I would put GeneratePress or maybe Astra on it, to speed it up.
But surprise! It's doing well without my having changed the theme! I'm very pleased. I do need to update the posts... there are nearly 300 of them, and about 12 pages. The reason I don't have to change the theme ASAP is that here at WA (and probably placed on a super-super-super-fast server), when I checked PageSpeed Insights, lo and behold...
- A LOT of the posts are 100 on desktops or in the high 90s,and up to the 90s on mobile.
- A few of the posts are low on mobile... I did see a 58 on a pst dated 2008... but hey, when I started this website, practically nobody was going online with mobile.
So now I will be evaluating the importance of tweaking an cleaning up this site compared with writing my memoirs and other tasks. We'll see. For years, this was my best site, in terms of affiliate income and numbers of readers.

That is interesting Rosana, thank you. Do any of the sites you have moved here sell products?
I am thinking of moving a site of mine to WA but I sell products on there. I don't want to have to get WooCommerce or similar to continue selling as they have to be paid for and last time I tried to set it up it took forever and I gave up.
I do want to move it here though as the other platform is so extremely slow with support. Takes them 7-11 days to get back to you for any problem. Not like here.
None of the sites I have moved here sell things directly. They do have affiliate links to Amazon or other such places.
That's a shame, was hoping you might do, thank you anyway. I did ask support but they didn't say directly about the selling aspect, just that it would be easy.
You could write a blog post about your issue and see if that gets some people out of the woodwork.
