When a WA Backup Saved My Bacon
WA has been good for me many times, as I expect many of you can also say for yourselves. This particular time, I really didn't expect it. By the way, while that is an image of bacon that makes me drool, this blog post has nothing to do with food.
I am gradually moving my seven or eight WordPress websites over here from another, rather expensive, webhost they have been on. One day I moved my church website over here, not all the way, just using the usual backup URL name.
Well, one of the other people at church who had admin access to the backend of the site at the other webhost, really did a number on the version of the site there. She took off a lot of historic photos that I really wanted to keep, and she messed up the menu big time. She thought she was helping.
I was not a happy camper. Then suddenly I remembered that I had the backup over here and that nobody else knew its URL. (I'm not putting it in this blog post on purpose.)
I set a speed record for coming here and checking. Yep, sure enough, everything is there, except a couple of recent posts that don't matter.
Whew! Heh heh heh! Saved bacon! Yep, I still need to do some more updating but there is no rush.

This is why I am quite glad I went premium and plus - WA managed hosting really helps especially like me if you multiple sites.

It shows the value of backing up our work, as we never know what could happen in the future.
I think I may have to make a bacon sandwich now!!
