What Fun over the Holidays?
What are you up to over the holidays, if you celebrate them?
I have a longstanding tradition of doing enjoyable projects during the week between Christmas a New Years. I upholstered a chair one time (very crudely but still...), and I often do a sewing project. This year, I think I'm going to teach myself the programs from Serif called Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher which I acquired recently. That might be a stretch to say it will be fun, but hey, I can't help being a geek. I do find it fun!
Our "vice son" will be here for a few days. He's 35 now and has been an honorary member of our family since he was a teenager and used to come help us do construction on the earthbag home we were building. We call him "vice son" because he dubbed us his "vice parents" in those long-ago days when he was 14 or 15 and we let him watch SNL, which he couldn't yet do at home.
We'll be doing social things too of course. Eating too! Church times.

I'll have a very quiet Christmas, all by myself -- me and my pussycat. There will be social things going on -- there always are in this little community. However, as Thanksgiving was such a tiring event for me (3-day big bazaar right after Thanksgiving) I will be happy to be a bit quieter.
SNL? Are you crazy? That show will make him grow up and have naked babies and pet rocks. Please tell me you did not let him watch SCTV. Look what happened to Kyle, Carson, and Jay from watching that Canadian show late night.
