Video Hosting Options
Where do you host your videos, that is, if you have made some? I've only used YouTube so far, and it certainly has advantages, but there are some other choices. Vimeo of course, and I have recently been surfing some other places. Here are the ones Ilooked at for when I get into a regular video-making routine. (When will that be? Ummm... pretty soon, that time-honored scheduling phrase)
So here are the choices I loooked at:
[1] YouTube -- considering Jay has a whole series of webinars we can watch about using YouTube, it's probably the best choice for most of us. I have been using it for years though not so much lately, because I haven't been making videos. The price is right... it costs nothing. Since Google owns it, they tend to rank YouTube videos above others.
[2] Vimeo -- has a reputation for artists and other creatives. There is a free plan but for anything commercial, you need to pay $20 a month or more. One really nice thing about Vimeo is that there are NO ADVERTISEMENTS.
[3] Jetpack -- yes, that Wordpress plugin you may already be using. They have paid versions as well as free and the $9 a month one includes your commercial videos. No ads. It has so many features that it often slows down sites that use it. That could be reason enough NOT to use it.
I also looked at Wistia ($99 a month if you do more than 3 videos) and some others.
After all that, I will stick with YouTube myself.
What about you?

Happy New Year Rosana.
A brilliant informative blog post. I do quite like Vimeo though and will be joining them at some stage. But Yes Youtube is still the No.1 Place for everyone to use!
Hey Rosana,
I'm also sticking with Youtube for now.
I also get a Wistia account for the first 3 free videos hosting for free.
I know some are also using AWS from Amazon. It might worth to check it.
Have a great day,
Marc
Oh yeah, Should have checked out AWS as I had an account there at one time. Prices depended on how much bandwidth you used and I never used much.
