Making New Info Products by Packaging

If you have only created websites, or like me mainly websites and books (kindle and paperback), there is another way to boost our incomes. I haven't done this lately but I plan to. It worked well when I tried it a few years back...

If you sell a kindle ebook or a paperback of say 100 pages, you can get a certain income for it, partly related to how badly others want the info you have. But if you put the info on a CD or a DVD, or put it behind a membership that people have to pay for, you can get more money. Maybe a lot more. People value certain formats more than others.

This does work best for niches where you have competition but not a massively broad topic, For example, "how to lose weight" is too broad. But there would be any number of smaller niches in that broad category.

We've got Jaaxy to give us ideas. For example, I just opened Jaaxy in another WA tab in my browser and I typed in:

how to lose weight

The numbers I saw didn't make me want to do anything with that phrase. No surprise there! But in the list of related terms gave several great ideas that could be the topic of an info product which wouldn't have too much competition. Remember you do want some competition.

Say for example that you created a CD on how to lose weight naturally for kids. You could have text files with lists of ideas. You could make videos showing children playing hopscotch. You could add some fast music, either royalty-free or that you composed and played. There could be a calendar to print out, a cheat sheat, a checklist. Recipes. Lists of things to buy at the grocery store.

So you end up with a package that has a greater value. If it does well, you could create a related package.

Suppose you write poetry. That's not the easiest thing to sell, but if you sold it on a DVD which included graphic files with a few lines and nice art from pixabay or other free sources, you would have something of more value. You could also be reading some of your poems and have sound files.

You get the idea. Packaging things together makes them more enticing.

This is a great idea. Thanks for sharing.

Great point. Packaging is part of the product. It definitely influences decision making.

It sounds like a great idea to try for sure. I hope you can continue to make it work if you try it again.
