Tomorrow is the 1st of July, and thus it's the start of another Camp NaNoWriMo. What's that? Well, it started out one November being National Novel Writing Month. With growing popularity worldwide, it now also offers the camps in a couple of other months.

I took part in one of theNaNoWriMos some years ago, writing the draft of a cozy mystery called Bad Weather, Bad Man which I later published as part of a trilogy. Since then I haven't taken part but I've written several books on my own.

But I admit I've been procrastinating about the book ahead of me, a memoir about my father, the science fiction writer Cordwainer Smith. So when I got an email that a new camp starts tomorrow, I decided to go for it. I think that's partly because I've learned here in WA how helpful encourgement from others can be.My goal will be to write about 1000 words a day on the memoir. That will certainly leave me plenty of time here. I'll add a link to my corner of NaNoWriMo in my website links. My name there is Bookfiend.

Guess I'd better clean up my office today.

I've heard of NaNoWriMo before. I follow a writer and she's mentioned this in her blogs. Have fun. Good luck with memoir.

Although I'm sure you don't need the writing skills, it does help to have the support of others and knowing that you MUST participate to make it work which will propel you to actually do the 1000 words a day!!! You don't need luck.....have fun!

Thanks for reminding me of writing 1000 words a day. I am so restless last week with zero writing. Thank you.
Please note - I know your post not meant for these 1000 words. You have more honor tasks to accomplish.

Sounds like fun but I imagine it can be a lot of hard work as well. I've never read any Ebooks. The books that I read are Christian writers and I underline and write in the margins. And I will always have the book that I can pull out anytime to read again.

Take care

Charlotte, some of the books sold on Amazon that are e-books are also print on demand type books that they will print and you get a hard copy of the book so you can write and underline and takes notes and whatever.

Thank you Karin for that information. I am not very experienced with online shopping and have not shopped on Amazon at all. I'm just not all that comfortable with online shopping. The hackers are getting smarter and smarter on breaking into those places that I just feel more comfortable shopping in real life and not virtual.

Take care,
