I Get Bored by a Lot of the Generic Stuff Here

I just had a look at a comment someone had posted on my profile. Hey, for once that comment had some real content. A rarity.

I do get bored with the same old same old, where people wish me well and thank me for following them and say they are following me. YAWN. That tells me nothing about them.

The comments I enjoy have more flair, like one recently that wondered if we might have met at a Grateful Dead concert. I don't think I ever went to one but I had to stop and think!

Also, a lot of the blog posts here appear to be pep talks for newbies. If I can tell from the title, I don't even go there, and there are some people who seem to do just that, so I don't go to their posts. I'm not a newbie and I don't need others to motivate me. I respect that there is a place for such posts here, and I'm not criticizing people who do them. But I almost never read them.

What I love in someone else's blog post is goofiness (looking at you, Twack!), personal stories, and practical information I can use. Oh, and I am a sucker for dog and cat images and stories (hey Jeffrey).

Call me an old curmdgeon if you wish to, my husband has called me that more than a few times. But please tell me something unique or interesting... Thanks in advance if you do!

Thank you, Rosana! I'm kind of slow replying right now, it has been a long week for Frank! That isn't your cat in the image is it? I had one just like that at my warehouse, and now he is gone, so just curious! I hope all is going well with your book!

Jeff

Hi Jeff -- not my cat, I just liked the expression on his face.

Oh, well it was just a thought! This was a very nice post!

Jeff

I do like Bill's comment and your post had me giggling, which was quite disconcerting for those in the room. I don't have a twin brother, can you imagine that ? Another me, roaming the countryside, getting up to goodness knows what, oh my.

Thank you for the mention, always grateful. Not 'Grateful Dead'. My posion was Hawkwind and I had an old Austin J4 camper van which was the home of many an adventure. Never managed to get off the island but did spend the best part of a week driving round Wales. One night we found a clearing on the edge of some woods and woke up the following morning to find a London double decker bus parked right next to us, took a while to process that anomaly.

They aren't used to you giggling like a maniac? Uh-oh, I'd better write another blog post to have you rolling on the floor... umm, that's a challenge for me. Maybe you'd better write one that is so funny you are ROFL yourself!

Another Twack! That would be something. :) Always enjoy your comments. Not enough time to comment on them all, but enjoy reading.

Thank you Bill, appreciate that. There is never enough time to read everything, if we did, we'd never get any of the other work done.

Doing that would be like trying to tickle yourself. I will try to remember something from the distant past, there's bound to be something funny in there somewhere.

Most do not know I have an identical twin on the other side of this crazy world who I have not physically seen in 20 years except online.
He has writing talents I do not have. Very deep side of me, and is very busy as a pastor and director of an online radio station.
Next year hopefully International travel will cooperate with the new times we are living to see him.
Yes we do not get deep enough on here, but I save most of that for my websites. No extra writers or paid or otherwise to assist and there is a life at my age to contribute. These posts do not pay very well. :)
Take care,
Bill

And I don't even see any gray hair on you!

Few white strands on top , but for 69 and 70 in 2 months I guess good genes. :) I work out every day, Walk a lot, and eat mostly vegetarian and fresh food.
Thanks,
Bill

Yes, it's nice to find some "meat" in the blogs on here...or some humor.

Check out my entrepreneurial website sometime, Rosana, since you like cat stories...It's The Literate Cat. There -- I've given you the title without providing a link...guess we can do that. You just gave me an idea for a WA blog -- I'll invite my literate cat, whose name is Lucinda, to come and talk to everyone. After all, if we have blog dogs, why not add a literate cat?

Can't click on 2 thumbs up Fran, hope this will suffice.

Lucinda, this is for you...

Thanks! Lucinda appreciates it.

I love your honesty and I've been called a curmudgeon myself. Perhaps it simply comes with age -- when you really don't care as much about what others think. We're not that far off in age (about 9 yrs) and I'm happy with the life I've lived. The ups/downs have made me into the person I am today and the one that I was always meant to be.

Many years ago, someone called me sui generis. I had no clue what that meant -- whether it was an insult or a compliment. When they left, I looked it up and I decided I was taking it as a compliment. I love being unique. Some say crazy, I prefer unique.

You just keep being you and reading whichever blogs tickle your fancy. That's what I do. We've earned that right!!!

Yes, we have, Debbi!
